The best thing about losing weight
:thumbup:Even when I'm feeling down because the scale isn't moving, I get excited everytime I get out of the shower, knowing that the towel can completely wrap around my body. It also makes me feel good to know that I can sit and cross my legs completely....and look sexy doing it. Yay band!!!! What is your favorite thing since your success?

back to school... back to "old habits"???
OMG! We are twins!!! We always experience the same things at the same time. I could have written this blog myself. I am a teacher too, and I have gotten away from excercise since the 16th of this month. All the staff development and then actual classroom set up has wore me out. I have not been on spark people to log in my food but I have been doing well with breakfast and lunch. I pack my lunch and it is always salad and some kind of meat, usually tuna or baked fish. My problem is after I get off work....busy running the kids to dance, little league...then homework and cooking dinner, showers, class for myself.....clean up.....the list never stops. I've gone to Taco Bell three times this week after work for a taco....I am craving them somehow I was excercising at six in the morning but now I leave at 6:15 am so I can't fit a morning workout in. I'm too beat at night. Let both of us receive strength to endure.

It's Been Two Weeks Post Surgery
Don't fret. I was banded Feb 25th of this year and I gained a pound my first month. I lost 5 pounds the second month. 15 pound the third month. Six months later I have a total weight loss of at least 47 pounds (I say this cause I have banned myself from the scale and don't have an accurate number since my last weigh in). It gets better, be encouraged and follow basic eating guidelines. I remember feeling like I was the only one who the band wasn't working for. But that has all changed. You can see my pics to prove it. Good luck! like imaluckydog says, you are healing, now is not the time to focus on the lbs.....my surgeon told me that when I when in for my first fill and was discouraged by the pound gain.

bad day
hang in there, lady. It'll get better. The scale will show a pound gained or lossed on a daily basis if you monitor it that often. Relax yourself and concetrate on the positive things in your life. We all have our days. So it's a bad day.....the day last 24 hours and you've already made it through 2/3rd's of it. Hang in there chica.

I just wanted to say that I have not fallen off the face of the earth. I have returned to work and school so my I am unable to be on as often. I still log on a read a few blogs every night so keep posting the good stuff. Later.....oh and the weightloss is good, I feel great and I think I am still losing even though I haven't step on the scale (Can you believe it?) Happy blogging.

To weigh in or not to weigh in?
I have moved my scale out of the bathroom and into the closet's top shelf. I am battling hard not to pull it out and weigh in. How much longer can I hold out? It's been a week and a day since weighing in at the fill center.

I love my scale, I love my scale, I love my scale....
It's good that you have this walking club going. I walk during my son's football practice too. No other moms have joined me yet. I've been trying to get them to walk for years now....(sigh) Oh well. Glad you're in one-der-land.

:-( Sad weekend for me!
I agree with finnalyncontrol, I'm sure your incle would understand. You have to take care of health. I think you can ask for a later appt. in your surgeon's schedule, go on and ask for it now. Take care.

I never thought of heartburn as a "too tight" indicator. I'm interested in the responses from others with experience in this.

Learning my sweet spot
Since learning last Tuesday that I am in the green zone, I have had to spend the week re-evaluating my food patterns, choices, etc. I usually guess at my calories and journal my food choices about four times a week. Since I no longer use weight watchers online, I decided to use sparkpeople.com. I like it better than the lapband journey site. Reading the daily report with the pie graphs that break down the nutritional aspect is really an eye opener. It allows me to ask myself, "Was that food choice worth it?" or "Could I have done something different to up my protein?" It usually suggests more carbs intake but I am not worried about that. I find that the protein stays on target only if I add a protein shake to my daily food intake. The most astonishing area is my fat intake. It proves that I eat within my limits but most choices contain too much fat......The results show this truth especially when I eat out. My home prepared foods leave better results. Also, I have not weighed myself since last Tuesday. I am a scale whore and have been trying to kick that habit. I hope that the scale results bring me a big smile when I do get on.

Problems with my Band
oh yes, how terrifying. Who would've thought?, I am praying it'll all works out for you.

What should I do?
Speaking of it being a disease and not a choice, there is currently a petition circulating that will be given to the US govenrment that asks that Obesity be recognize as a disease. I received it from the lapband site that came with my lapband card. If interested, I can email the link to you.
