  1. I hope she joins our forum. Everything we go through helps someone.
  2. It a new/old way of removing brows other than by waxing. Its suppose to be an old middle eastern procedure according to my cosmetologist. Its fast but stings more than waxing. Its sort of hard to describe but done with a long piece of thread and twisting somehow. Anyway, its pretty popular here and I had it done today just to try it. I think I want the hot wax.
  3. Welcome Nana, we are practically neighbors. I am in Santa Clarita. V angel and I had our surgeries the same day in Mexico. As far as pain goes, I had my eyebrows threaded today and that hurt more than the surgery did. Again welcome, we are excited to have you with us.
  4. Welcome home sleeve sista!, Keep us posted.
  5. :001_rolleyes::thumbup::biggrin0::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: What a great thing to experience. I can feel your grin from here! Way to go girl!
  6. Have you tried the 5 day pouch test thing? I understand where you are coming from. I would have loved for this to have been the miracle cure. I hate exercising. Besides this is a tool, right? LOL #$%^&*&^^%$$# expensive tool. If I spent that much for screw driver, it had better do the work by itself, right? But...I would still have to choose the screw I would use it on and the speed of the job, so there you go, you still have the controls. Good luck to you and know we are here to support you.
  7. Amanda, Everyone is waiting to hear how yuo are doing. We are all with you in prayers and spirit.
  8. Give the doctor or coordinator a call.
  9. Sending prayers as we speak. Thanks for letting us know VA! Our forum makes a good prayer chain
  10. I know, I have the very same problem. My brain wants it, my stomach does not.
  11. He would get such a kick out of that.
  12. I totally understand, what you need is someone that is totally supporting your decision and that seems to be bothering you the most at this point. If my better half was like that ( my family was) then I wouldnt want them along either. Sounds like she is not an overweight person and just doesnt get it. She also may be saying that because she fears you having the surgery. My suggestion is "give it time" and good luck to you. You will be great.

My boyfriend once gave me a small stone. He said to rub it when I got anxious. I guess I could have seen that as considerate of cheap, I guess he could have offered to pay for therapy. I guess the stone was just a subtle hint, now that I look back at it.
  14. Glad to hear you are feeling better Bob, I know you will feel better just being home. I know VA will take good care of you. I will talk to you both later tomorrow. Big hugs to you both.
  15. What a great concept to deal with mind over body situations. I like the attitude, keep it up, you are an inspiration.
  16. Congrats on your surgery date, you wont regret going with Dr Aceves, We will love having another sleeve sister. Dont worry, you will do fine.
  17. I had my revision done on the same day as Vegas Angel and we were discharged on a Monday. I was back to work on Tuesday with no pain or problems. It is definitely doable.
  18. I and alot of other posters on this board have used DR Aceves in Mexicali. He is absolutely great!!!! You will probably not hear anything negative about him. I like you paid alot of money in the US for a sleeve but had to have it removed. Dr Aceves did the revision to the sleeve and it was 12,500 for a revision. He does have discount periods however and that would be the way to go. It will be cheaper than in the US and he hasnt had any leak complications. You will also be impressed with the hospital and staff. 12,500 still sounds like alot but it includes alot of other things like hotel and transportation to the airport to mexicali not to mention all of the preop testing and some take home medication post op.
  19. I am so glad you are doing well Bob. I hope you breeze through it like I did. Now for the peacock poops. Hey V angel, I sent you hugs too!!
  20. Wasnt me....Today is the first day of real solids and OMG what a difference. Daisy was right, you got to take it slow, chew well and stop before you are full. I ate my first piece of chicken breast and got too full, I was so sick. I will definitely be more careful next time.
  21. Daisy, I agree, lets get together really soon, I want to meet everyone too, Hope everyone out this way and anyone else that wants to make the trip agrees. Angel, tell Bob that they still will be making steak in a month. Great Bigs hugs to you all!
  22. This trip must be as much fun as our surgery trip. You have gotten to meet alot of our family. Did Bob have a good last meal? How nervous was he? Gotta fill me in girlfriend.
  23. I got to onederland too this morning, just barely but I did it and you are right about the weight loss with the exercising being a great motivator. I will get some exercise (enough to break a sweat) even if its only 20 to 30 minutes every day. I do more most of the time but there are days when only 20 minutes will have to do. I dont like to exercise anymore than I have to. In fact, I still hate it but I got those walking in place DVD's at walmart and I find an empty office at work during lunch or down time at work and do 20 min of the Leslie Sansone and I feel good about doing it. I have to admit, it sort of gives me an energy boost mid day. Anyway I am really happy about the scale moving again. Have to leave for the gym now. bye
  24. He thought right! but we really love you that way. Tell Bob we are all waiting to hear from him. Bigs hugs to you both.
