  2. OMG you are going to be in Mexico the weekend I am planning on being in Illinois, just my luck. No eggs or pickles for me. Wait, Vegas A can save me a jar and I can visit her and pick them up.
  3. Welcome Henry, keep posting, we are here for you. Hope you enjoy being with our forum family. WOO HOOO Another sleeve brother!!!!!
  4. how long ago did you eat and how much. Your first pureed meal was a bit hard to digest. Try something lighter next time and work your way up
  5. Well then, Hi neighbor, hope to run into you sometime when I go fishing, whenever that will be.
  6. I second that, people get jealous or theatened when someone shows progress. I think you were courageous to tell anyone. I strongly feel that people just discount any weight loss if it was a result of WLS, they dont have any idea of how much work is done on our part afterwards to actually be successful. They think we went with an easy fix. I for one didnt tell anyone. Just the people here and my doctors. I didnt even tell my family that live near by.
  7. Ross's Dress for Less comes in handy when you find you need something right now. I am waiting for big purchases too but when I went from size 18 tio 12, I had to get some new jeans. Tops havent been an issue just yet.
  8. Yep, a great nurse is worth her weight in gold. I had some exceptional ones when I was in ICU once. (not with this surgery)
  9. Sometimes with insurance, you have to meet your deductibles and some sort of co payment. With the cost of surgery in the states, sometimes the co pay can be as much as the sleeve cost in Mexico if not more. That may be a consideration also. Men are notorious for worrying about the money issue but if you were lying in a hospital ICU because of a cardiac problem, he would regret his hesitationbecause of money. The surgeon's experience with the sleeve surgery is also a MAJOR factor.
  10. Headhunter, You must live close to my neck of the woods. I am in Santa Clarita (Newhall) how about you?
  11. I want my grandsons to know me as the pretty grandma I dont want to worry about not getting another job because I am too fat or have someone thin and less qualified get it instead of me I want to meet men with confidence that they wont be turned off by my size
  12. What are his concerns? Maybe someone here can help you enlighten him. Who is doing your surgery?
  13. I second that notion 100%. I use this forum family to air all my thoughts, fears and concerns and they are the ones I go to for my proud moments too. I didnt tell anyone about my surgery except for my doctors and one friend who never sees people I work with or am related to. What they dont know wont hurt me. Keep the faith my friend. This will pass and we are here for all the support you need. If I come to San Diego, which happens from time to time, I will let you know and we can do lunch or shopping or something. We are here for you.
  14. I want to fit into a size 8 again. I want to be able to dry myself after my shower without paying extra attention to all of the folds. The area under the girls is ok
  15. All I can tell you is the one that I have is 2 yrs old now and it has both the muscle mass percentage along with the water. It is accurate in that it matches my other doctor's scale. within a lb but then I am naked on my scale and clothed on his, so there is my 1 lb
  16. I think Dr Aceves wants to hold vitamins until you are taking solid foods
  17. Hey Steve, where in LA are you? Just curious, I am here too.
  18. Dr Aceves puts you on a clear liquid diet for 10 days, then full liquids for 10 days then mushies for ten. Regular food after 30 days if you tolerate everything else.
  19. Men embrace anything they believe is their idea.
  20. Glad to hear you are home and doing well. Take it easy and have a speedy recovery, hope to hear more from you soon.
  21. I also had my band taken out last March and had the revision on June 12th. I am 7 weeks out and have lost about 25 lbs. I love the sleeve in lieu of the band. Much better for my life style.
