I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems. I haven't had surgery yet so I don't know how to help you. Are you taking the Nexium? I hope someone can help you soon.

My first question was also going to be are you taking Nexium?

That's what I would do too. Call the doctor and tell them the Nexium isn't helping. I know they say the stomach makes as much acid as it did before surgery until it realizes it doesn't need to make as much.

Some people don't respond to one PPI but respond to another. So your doc can give you a prescription for something else and hopefully that one will work.

I had to take 40 mg of nexium the first couple of weeks I was home -- that seemed to help - I took 20 in the am and 20 in the pm ... sorry I didn't think to tell you that when we were at the hospital - I think my brain was shutdown due to boredom! Sometimes I have to take nexium and zantac and that will cut out the acid reflux. I take one nexium and 2 zantac. Hope that helps! Glad to hear you made it home okay!
