    Arizona Nurses???

Any Arizona nurses sleeved out there? Thought it would be fun to have a group of nurses comparing notes and having a sleeved lunch together now and then!

    Goal!!!!!!

 It's been 10 months since my surgery. I can't believe it. I met my weight loss goal last month, but I never thought I would be below it! I am skinnier now than I have been since junior high. What a feeling. I must admit, I miss sitting down for a big meal now and then:sad0:, but nothing can replace the thrill I feel when I go shopping with my daughter and try on the same clothes as her! Size 4! Wow! My biggest problem now is maintaining my weight. And I don't mean gaining it back, I mean stop losing. Did I just say that???? I've said it before, but I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!

    My Sleeve Journey

It is possible, And I am proof. Go for it!
  4. Hey Rosie! Sorry I haven't been online for months. Congrats on your weight loss. I bet you look great! I have lost 86 lbs. and am 15lbs under my goal. My problem now is how to stop losing and just maintain. NEVER thought that would be an issue! Well, take care and send a hi to your dad for me!

  5. Tiff! WOW! I havent been on in ages! You look awesome! Question for you...one I NEVER thought I would ask anyone...I'm 15lbs under my goal, and I don't WANT to lose anymore, but it is still coming off. What do I do to maintain? OMG...did I really just ask that!? PS just updated my ticker...still can't believe I passed my goal.

Article on people keeping WLS "secret"

I chose not to tell anyone except my son who took me to Mexico. I am also a very private person. I have since told my daughter, and a few co-workers. I don't really care what people think about my choice to have the surgery, I just don't particularly want to be the butt of rumors at work. When people ask me how I've lost all the weight, I choose whether I want to say "low carbs, high protein" or "I had WLS," depending on who asks. Neither is a lie. But if I choose to tell, I do make sure they know it's NOT the band!

    VSG at "low" BMI?

I also had a BMI in the low 30"s and had the sleeve. I am now 6 lbs from goal and never once regretted what I did! I had my surgery in mexico.
  9. This week brought with it some major milestones. First and foremost, I turned, argh!, 50! Second, 3 months post-op. For my birthday, my daughter, son and I went to San Carlos, Mexico to scuba dive with a few friends of mine. While we had a blast, I learned a few definite don'ts related to VSG and diving. First, you can vomit underwater.:biggrin2: It's not fun, but it's possible. On the flip side, it's best to eat WAY before diving, eat extra slow and eat extra small amounts. Second, when your friends say let's go for ice cream right after lunch, SAY NO!:mad0: But even with all the "reminders" that life is a bit different with VSG, I still had a great time. Weight loss is at 47lbs, doesn't get better than that. My daughter was amazed when she got off the plane and saw me! She knew nothing of the surgery or weight loss. What a great feeling that was! I'm loving my sleeve more and more.:cursing:

Need some opinions - New Hairstyle

Tiff, I've been out of the loop lately, but I LOVE your hair! You look great! I need a new "do" too but I'm a chicken. I am always unhappy with new haircuts. By the way, my daughter also has a huge forehead, so big that her brothers named it! They call it "Glara Mc Fly" Haha

Going alone to see Alberto Aceves or......

Welcome Jillyr to the I've been sleeved side. I also went alone and had no problems. I am 6 months post op and Dr Campos had already had his surgery and lost his weight before I went for my surgery so his must have been at least several months prior to mine. Keep up the good work with your recovery!

    Boughie size comparison

Wow! Thanks for the visual Tiff. Yesterday I forgot about my sleeve, (yup, just plain ol' forgot), and ate my dinner FAST! Followed by vomiting. It's been months since I did that. Think I'll carry a bic pen to remind me. Thanks.

    Exercise help here, please!

Hey all, Being 3 months post-op, I feel great. But I haven't exercised at all. I have an elliptical and I've tried to use it, but am exhausted after only 2-3 minutes! I am such a couch potato! How do you motivate yourselves to get up and go? And what do you do when you can't tolerate it? Help!:frown1:

    New Me, New User Name

It's been 5 1/2 months and I am very close to my goal. A recent picture taken by my son just blew me away...I am skinny! (the picture is posted in my photo section). This has been a month of firsts. Being called skinny by people that rarely noticed me at work before; shopping for clothes and buying size 4 jeans!; confiding in a few friends about the surgery and being supported by them; going to the doctor and LOOKING FORWARD to getting on the scale; and weighing less than my sisters! (that's probably the best, as I was always the fatty in the family). What a high! No food or candy ever made me feel this good. I know this is a lifelong journey, but right now, if I don't ever lose another pound, I couldn't be happier. I know I've said it before, but I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!! Now, if I could just get my skinny butt off the couch and exercise! My user name is no longer soon2bskinny...it is learned2bskinny. How appropriate:thumbup:
  19. Ok, I've been a Kohl's shopper for years. You know those discount coupons you get every month...the ones that you peel and are either 15, 20 or 30% off your entire purchase? Well I ALWAYS get 15%. It's kind of a joke with my daughter, who always manages 30%. Yesterday I got my first 30% off so of course I had to go shopping! Off I went, collected jeans, slacks, and tops to try on. Everything was too big! I had to buy size 4 jeans and slacks! Yes...I said 4! I never wore a 4 before, not even as a teenager. OMG! I called my daughter and we cried tears of joy! I ended up just buying a few things, but what an experience! Pictures coming soon.

Congratulations on your decision to have the surgery. You have about the same amount of weight to lose that I did. It's taken me around 6 months to just about reach my goal. A journey well worth taking. Good luck and keep us posted.
