  1. It's been 10 months since my surgery. I can't believe it. I met my weight loss goal last month, but I never thought I would be below it! I am skinnier now than I have been since junior high. What a feeling. I must admit, I miss sitting down for a big meal now and then:sad0:, but nothing can replace the thrill I feel when I go shopping with my daughter and try on the same clothes as her! Size 4! Wow! My biggest problem now is maintaining my weight. And I don't mean gaining it back, I mean stop losing. Did I just say that???? I've said it before, but I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!
  2. Tiff! WOW! I havent been on in ages! You look awesome! Question for you...one I NEVER thought I would ask anyone...I'm 15lbs under my goal, and I don't WANT to lose anymore, but it is still coming off. What do I do to maintain? OMG...did I really just ask that!? PS just updated my ticker...still can't believe I passed my goal.
  3. Hi Tiffany! Haven't posted for a while. New Job, New House, REACHED MY GOAL!!!!! Great site to monitor your progress. Hope everyone looks it over. It is one way to see your progress from all different angles!
  4. I chose not to tell anyone except my son who took me to Mexico. I am also a very private person. I have since told my daughter, and a few co-workers. I don't really care what people think about my choice to have the surgery, I just don't particularly want to be the butt of rumors at work. When people ask me how I've lost all the weight, I choose whether I want to say "low carbs, high protein" or "I had WLS," depending on who asks. Neither is a lie. But if I choose to tell, I do make sure they know it's NOT the band!
  5. I also had a BMI in the low 30"s and had the sleeve. I am now 6 lbs from goal and never once regretted what I did! I had my surgery in mexico.
  6. Tiff, I've been out of the loop lately, but I LOVE your hair! You look great! I need a new "do" too but I'm a chicken. I am always unhappy with new haircuts. By the way, my daughter also has a huge forehead, so big that her brothers named it! They call it "Glara Mc Fly" Haha
  7. Welcome Jillyr to the I've been sleeved side. I also went alone and had no problems. I am 6 months post op and Dr Campos had already had his surgery and lost his weight before I went for my surgery so his must have been at least several months prior to mine. Keep up the good work with your recovery!
  8. Wow! Thanks for the visual Tiff. Yesterday I forgot about my sleeve, (yup, just plain ol' forgot), and ate my dinner FAST! Followed by vomiting. It's been months since I did that. Think I'll carry a bic pen to remind me. Thanks.
  9. WHOO HOO!!!!! Way to go Tiffany!!!! I hope to be at goal by my 7 month mark too. :lol0:
  10. Daisy, I work Weds, Thurs, Fri nights, so if you're coming on Sat, sun, mon or tues I'm available and would love to get together! PM me and let me know!
  11. It's been 5 1/2 months and I am very close to my goal. A recent picture taken by my son just blew me away...I am skinny! (the picture is posted in my photo section). This has been a month of firsts. Being called skinny by people that rarely noticed me at work before; shopping for clothes and buying size 4 jeans!; confiding in a few friends about the surgery and being supported by them; going to the doctor and LOOKING FORWARD to getting on the scale; and weighing less than my sisters! (that's probably the best, as I was always the fatty in the family). What a high! No food or candy ever made me feel this good. I know this is a lifelong journey, but right now, if I don't ever lose another pound, I couldn't be happier. I know I've said it before, but I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!! Now, if I could just get my skinny butt off the couch and exercise! My user name is no longer soon2bskinny...it is learned2bskinny. How appropriate:thumbup:
  12. After many suggestions and thoughts of my own, I just fell in love with Oregondaisy's suggestion for me. My new user name will be Learned2bSkinny if it is accepted. Whoo Hoo! And thanks Daisy. I love it!
  13. Daisy, I LOVE it! Note to all: I'm gonna change my name!
  14. Judy, I just read, and re-read your posts. I know you're not eating all that at once, but it sounds like you might be grazing. Eating what you can tolerate but eating too often. Try to stick to three meals, and two Snacks daily, low to no carbs until the stall passes, then keep the carbs less than 30mg daily. Stalls are normal and very frustrating. But they will pass. You need to follow the rules...even though you miss the flavors you once loved. Remember VSG is just a tool, not used correctly and you can gain weight. Keep your chin up, remember why you did this in the first place, and keep posting here for motivation. You can do it!
  15. You guys are hysterical...I can't decide what to call myself now, but I love your suggestions. Thanks.
  16. Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I NEVER thought I would wear a 4 either! When I was a kid, I went from a girls 16 to a junior 11. This is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me next to the birth of my kids! And Vegas, I love your suggestion for my new name! Thanks again!!
  17. Just posted a brand spanking new picture. I still can't believe it! Maybe it's time to change my user name!!!!!
  18. Ok, I've been a Kohl's shopper for years. You know those discount coupons you get every month...the ones that you peel and are either 15, 20 or 30% off your entire purchase? Well I ALWAYS get 15%. It's kind of a joke with my daughter, who always manages 30%. Yesterday I got my first 30% off so of course I had to go shopping! Off I went, collected jeans, slacks, and tops to try on. Everything was too big! I had to buy size 4 jeans and slacks! Yes...I said 4! I never wore a 4 before, not even as a teenager. OMG! I called my daughter and we cried tears of joy! I ended up just buying a few things, but what an experience! Pictures coming soon.
  19. I agree with the others. I was sleeved by Dr Aceves in July, 2009. It was a great experience. I am also an RN (21 years) and have never seen such care and cleanliness here in the states. I went by myself and although I was hesitant to do so, the staff made me feel comfortable and took care of all of my needs in a very timely manner. I wouldn't hesitate to go back for the cosmetic surgery that is sure to be needed when I reach goal!! My package price was $8500. Again, it included everything.
  20. It SHOULD include hair! We work so hard to look so good, and what do our bodies do in return.....shed! This seems to be a lose-lose situation. Oh well, I guess I'ld rather be thin and bald than fat and furry!
  21. Me too Vegas! They are the Reeboks. I wonder if they really work? I think I am finally going to go to the YMCA and check out what they offer and how much. I'm soooooo close to goal, but I'm still such a couch potato!
  22. Tracy, I'm in the same boat. I hate to cook, much less cook just for me. I end up eating ready made foods which always have too much sodium in them. I still have hypertension, even though I'm 15 lbs from my goal, so sodium isnt the best for me. Fast food, even though I can only eat a tiny bit, is also lousy nutrition wise, so if there was only someone who would cook for me.....
  23. Nope, she's not coming here until February, unless she changed her plans. Hope all is well with her. Daisy...Where for art thou??
