  1. Maybe it was a Legal Separation instead of a total divorce, but I do understand where you're coming from. I'm not as brave as you but caught myself taking a spoonful of left-over dressing from the bottom of Tomkittens bowl. Sad--isn't it? They do say eventually you will be able to tolerate it , not sure if it is the truth, or merely to shut the questioner up. 9be if the few things in life I am hesistant about. You see I have upchucked so often on things that should be okay I am scared to rock my ??boat!
  2. A Greek Omelet, oooh Yum Yum! I really don't care much for eggs, but in the case of a Greek one, I will forego my repulsion. Snicker-snicker, I taught L.L.(short for Late Lamented) to make his own eggs when I called it "Some poor hens miscarriage" never could please him with my egg cookery, he liked his Over Easy, that's where the white is set, but the yoke is still So runny it coats the back of your throat! Yucky to the INTH ?degree!
  3. Good to know, wonder if you still need a letter of Medical Need or are they easily accessible? I haven't had a migraine since my surgery, this means one of 2 things. 1) Surgery cured my tendencies OR 2) I am way overdue for one, as LONG as it has been, it will be a BARN-Burner!
  4. Common sensation with a catheter indwelling, I can tell you this from nursing education AND personal experience. I felt like my body was trying to push it out, told it" If I can't produce urine, do you think my muscles can dislodge YOU?" The pain is from pockets of gas under your diaphragm, see back when you were an embryo, that was where your nerves started out,--up where your shoulder blades are now, as you developed further the nerves descended with the diaphragm into your chest and abdomen. FYI even though you didn't ask, left shoulder pain can be your spleen too. I have jejunal ulcers, the portion my stomach pouch(I was a bypass) connects into, I feel the pain in the right subcostal(under the ribs) as well as the right shoulder. Lost my gall bladder 35 years ago, but argued with one of my surgeons that MAYBE it had regrown? Got a little concerned when I started get left side pain too, turned out I had more ulcers a little farther down. They assure me they are getting better, another Endoscopy June 12th, WE SHALL SEE! But remember, this my dear, a catheter is only a bump in your Weight Loss Road? you will end up fine and dandy at the end! So smile if you can, everything gonna be all right!
  5. Going to be great for both of you! Wish I had had a sister to share my joys and sorrows with, but I have found a lot of Bari'cousins on Bariatric Pal, so I have filled the gap God forgot to fill. I figure with HIM taking care of the Heavens and the Earth?---'my request may have been shunted to the side!?
  6. Congratulations Debberlee, I went from 60 to 38, not bad for a Old lady the same approximate age as Dirt, I always had an "out of proportion" smaller waist, this tells you how Dang Big I was Before! And it Ain't over yet! Well, if they don't say so, I vote you "Employee of the Year" and I am awarding you a ? Trophy, because I know you went through a lot to get down here!
  7. I figure you meant, you started this fateful journey in October 2018 and in less than a week your Day of Days will occur, right? First, Relax a little, many, have had this surgery, myself and Briswife included. You have come a long way in 8 months, now your preparations are going to pay off. Approach this with a smile on your face, peace in your ❤ heart and a firm belief in what will occur. You will be in the right place, at the right time, having the right surgery, the chosen one, you have selected the right surgeon to perform it, he or she has to be the best or you would not have chosen them. First of all, I found, it is not as painful as I was led to believe. Tooth extractions and root canals are much worse. Instead of true abdominal pain my sensations were that my muscles felt very tired like someone had forced me to do repeatedly sit-ups at gunpoint. And I am old, tend to be crabby, if it was terrible I would be only too eager to tell you so! Like many 70+ year olds, I am only too happy to share my wisdom with anyone within earshot, whether they asked for it or not! When you leave that operating room, you will never be the same, but that's not a BAD thing, you will have been remodeled , renovated and realigned internally. Now your G.I. system will work for you instead of the treacherous way it allowed you to gain weight before. And it may take a while for you to learn the new mechanism involved. Briswife and I had some rarities happen in our recovery, but as for ME and I am much farther from surgery than she, I would never go back to where I was before last September. I am now smaller by over 100 pounds, maybe about the size I was when my later hubby and I were married , in December 1967, a good difference , now I appreciate it for I truly know what I went through to get back down here. I started at a 28-30W, just ready to topple from a 20 into an 18, yeah I know many ladies start at the size I am now, well Baby I Ain't Done Yet! Ready to enter Onederland after starting in the mid-to'upper 300s, I NEVER thought I would have a chance to write "1" in front of my weight. 1/4 Surgical skill, I had the chief of Bariatric Surgery and Metabolic Weight Loss at the Ohio State University, super skilled-super nice guy, at least 1/2 the Grace of God, I will always give Him credit where credit is due, and the remaining 1/4? Red-headed stubborness, a commited personality, I knew this was my One and Best chance to live instead of dying, and at 72, now 73 ,your Primary Care Physician does make such noises. Everything down to an infected hangnail, " THIS could KILL you!" And I was and am commited to see this through to the end. I've survived a lot but I'll keep coming back for more, my scars are battle ribbons in the War of Life, they say"I took what YOU threw at me- and I AM STILL HERE!" Well I am sorry to have kept going on and on, but I am a Grandmother, should be a Grwzt-grannie but my 2 Grandville haven't Got their acts together, older one is divorced, younger one a Senior at OSU, double major- Forensics and Psychology- Meemaw is a TAD proud of Amy! Remember you can and will be a success at this, hardest yet most satisfying job you may HAVE. And the benefits will be ALL for YOU!❤ Love from me, Frustr8, your friend in Central Ohio!???
  8. Act contrite and sincere, tell them you realize your error but are now recognized towards the surgery, Might not hurt to ask for some " Relaxing Happy Juice" your mind is now willing, it was just your body that was a little weak. And when it does happen for you, I will be one of your Biggest Cheerleaders! Pinky Swear!
  9. Wet almost hot towels, wring them out well, place on your lower abdomen, well below your incisions, if that doesn't work put them between your legs in the Private Area. The heat should relax things enough to go. If not, it's Mr Foley and his family, especially his Sister "Straight Cath". Sorry, My Dear!??
  10. May you find a surgery you can endorse, may you find a compentent surgeon to preform it And may you live confidently with the bodily changes that will ensue . And most of all may you receive joy in your future days!???

A quicky Poem from me, the Bariatric Poetess Laureate; The Three Week Stall --- Ooh I hate it All --- Please may my weight soon decrease!--- Until then, I will find and comprehend No Peace! The inches are leaving---- I want to keep believing--' The sizes are smaller too--' But Please. Mr. Stall, I do hope you are through!
  12. I have so much you would swear I was still ingesting carbonated drinks! All the Post-Surgery has I didn't get is revisiting ME now.
  13. And Kidney Stones are a miserable thing to have at any time, I would think worse when you don't have all your strength back from major abdominal surgery! Yeeouch!
  14. You can go back into the past by using your Magnifying glass up on the right side banner. Type in MarieMarie and see if it doesn't sound familiar. That's how I find past things, I believe Fluffy Chix calls it "Necroposting".
  15. Happy Surgery Day @Karebear714, was thinking of you this AM, you certainly are in my prayers?and I trust God will direct your surgeon's hands to be steady and sure on this Day of Days. Please update us when you feel good enough!
  16. Depends on how rumpled and dirty you feel after surgery. Me, I could certainly wait until I got home, but everybody differs. Some surgeon's say don't get your incisions set but others feel it is fine. Certainly no tub baths or swimming, too much chance of impure water leading to infections, but showers, just clean water flowing over, washing everything clean. Hospital pillows, mfft, I think they may be 1st cousins to the sandbags used to position you so you don't roll off onto the floor. Yeah maybe they could do their business on a Flat surface, but surgeons are very protective of their own backs getting out of alignment. We only have one surgery but they do many in a day!
  17. The first time you'll eat one more bite than your pouch can comfortably hold, the message will come home to you. And you'll find out that you do have restriction.
  18. Me Too and now the rest of my life will be the best of my life. That's my commitment and I'm sticking to it!
  19. When you make a commitment you build hope When you keep your commitment you build trust And when your plans start to work and you sense a change in yourself It is a wonderful wonderful thing!
  20. I drink Something every day that is calorie free, sugar free , fat free ,carbohydrate free, gluten free and cholesterol free. Its called ICE WATER.??
  21. Danke Leibling, I enjoy your posts as well. May you fly straight and true towards your Surgery and beyond!
  22. I think someday when they do my autopsy they will find out my spine is now a stack of Sucralfate pills, one on top of another. I'm sure I have taken enough since October 12th and they had to end up SOMEWHERE!???
  23. Yeah, nothing beats these tools to help you lose. I know without mine I would not have lost 105 pounds in 9 months. I never could have done this with diet alone, and I tried them ALL, the premise behind some, as I look back, were silly. Stand up while you eat, that way the calories flow out the soles of your feet. Then there was the boiled cabbage, the Grapefruit, it's son the All Citrus Diet. This one is especially, bad when, you already have GERD. The last thing you need is more acid. Aunt-in-law was into the Vinegar diet, and she was enough of a sourpuss without it! I'm healthier, thinner, more optimistic now. I would say cuter, but I always had that, just nobody much noticed. Don't wait until you're 72 like me, you waste so much of life that way. Do have it, this might be the PERFECT TIME for YOU!❤
  24. And if they work for you, I see nothing wrong with patches. Your future blood labs will show if you're able to take your vitamins and minerals in that manner. Many, people on here have had great success with them.Remember to get a good strong variety, the ones Bariatric Pal Store sells are among the BEST!
  25. Well, that is part of it all, you learn from your mistakes not to repeat them. We have all had those moments ourselves, we are only human. You resolve not to repeat these things and you move on, don't look behind, keep moving ahead. Follow your diet, get your exercise, acknowledge this is not the easiest thing you have ever done, but we who went before you realized that the rewards outweigh the things you have removed from your life. Stay strong and I believe you will have excellent results.
