What to do about the GAS!?

Quick background. Im 2 months post gastric bypass, and have been on protein shakes only this whole time due to a stricture. I'm just starting to have pureed foods. I blended up some homemade vegetable soup, which included broccoli, and took 2 Beano pills, but boy, the volume of gas is tremendous! Everything I try to eat gives me gas. Any suggestions?

Gas-X is your friend! Also, you can try taking probiotics to get more healthy bacteria in your digestive tract to help break down foods better.

Thank you! I hadn't thought of GasX or probiotics! Great ideas.

I was struggling with this too and trying beano with no results. Someone suggested it was lactose intolerance and I picked up some Lactaid. That was the culprit. Worth a try!

lactose intolerance makes sense - it seems like a lot of people develop that after surgery. Sometimes it's temporary; sometimes it's not....

I have so much you would swear I was still ingesting carbonated drinks! All the Post-Surgery has I didn't get is revisiting ME now.
