    Burping

According to my doctor, this is one indication that I am full. I tend to stop eating when I start burping, well usually 🙂

    Surgery went great on Monday

Congratulations! So excited for you. When rolling out of bed or standing up from the couch, make sure you use the furnitures available for you for support, at least for the next 2 weeks. Put your arms on the end table or elbow rest etc to cause less pain in your belly. sip. sip. sip.... little sips... Good Luck. You got this!

    Back from Cruise

Back from a 5 day cruise, gained 3 pounds BUT.... I already lost all 3 pounds back again, whoooo hooooo! Boy, was I eating.. and drinking, but I was also walking A LOT! I stayed away from cookies and cakes and carbs. I enjoyed the salad bar, such wide variety. Also I loved their omelette station in the mornings, and I ate lots of Cantaloupes, Watermelons etc. Dinner time, I ate Lobster Tail, Shrimp, Sashimis and even steak. :-) So it is possible to have fun! Have cake and eat it too!
  12. So, I thought "I got this"... Smooth sailing, 1-2 pounds a week?, no problem... until this week... and it's scaring the living daylight out of me. I gained 4 pounds over the weekend. I still do my usual everyday walking, plus I re-joined the gym so that's not the problem. It's the snacking late at night... Also, my coworker is having a bday this week, and I rolled some "lumpia" (filipino eggrolls) and I have tons in my freezer, ready to just get deep fried....and I'm about to throw them all soon. I'm going to a 5 day cruise on the 4th of July too... Please, I need some encouragement, some strong words, prayers, uplifting quotes...anything. Thanks...

A month before surgery, I switched to decaf...Then went back to Yummy coffee again about a month after surgery. I don't drink that much though. Just a medium cup in the morning....coz it is one of the best parts of waking up 😍

Russell stover imitates well on their sugar free chocolates. Peanut butter, pecan clusters, dark chocolate, coconut, toffee are some of my faves.... 130 cals for 2. Might b worth a try?

    Anyone else not losing?

The doctor explained that I would lose weight like the "stairs", instead of the "slide". It's not going to be smooth sailing all the way down. Our body will lose the weight but we must give it chance to regroup and refit our skins. My surgery was in Feb 2019. My slowest progress so far was on my 3rd month (May). Once June came around, my progress increased again. Good job exercising everyday. Congratulations on losing 55 lbs. I recently lifted a 10 pound potato sack and it was "HEAVY"... So 55 is a lot! Awesome job! Hang in there friend. We'll be skinny someday....soooon!
  18. I ate and ate until it was time for the pre-op liquid diet.

    Pounds lost

Hang in there, I had my surgery in February and the 3rd month was the toughest for me so far. I'm on my 4th month now and I'm losing weight again. I've decided to help out my gastric bypass procedure by walking more...😆

    Work/Social eating

Congratulations and wishing you the very best of luck on your upcoming surgery. I would advise you to not schedule working lunches with your clients/friends for the first few months. You have to learn how to eat with your new stomach. It has happened to me a couple of times when I thought I was going to be fine, but still ended up being sick. It is very easy to get distracted. On your first month or so, you need to focus on what you're eating, to chew slow and to pay attention to what your stomach is saying...whether you're full or not. It was embarrassing that a couple of times, I had to excuse myself from the table and got super sick. Even though I can now enjoy the company of others on my lunch breaks, I now prefer to walk. well, maybe I go out with them once a week, but I really enjoy my "me" time. Lunches: I pack something light and easy to eat for lunch. Yogurt, Hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, beef jerkies, grapes and cheese.... I notice I get full quickly with sandwiches or pasta, so I avoid them at work. I can also now eat chicken/tuna salads. Drinks: Water..water..water.. when we go out on the weekend, I am now able to drink up to 2 Michelob Ultra or 1 Vodka+diet coke. Good Luck

    13 Days Until Sleeved!

    So exciting, Good Luck!
  24. Yes, I agree with everything Mousecat said 😂.. I'm 4 months post op, and I feel sooo much better this month than last month. I am somewhat back to having fun with my friends on the weekends, but normally I would consume loads and loads of Vodka and beer... So, my new normal is 1 to 2 Michelob Ultra. Normally I would just lounge around watch tv after work, our new normal is to walk about 40 minutes after dinner. Normally I wear a size 2X and jeans 18-20, I now can fit into a L-XL and size 12 jeans! whoo hooo.... I like the new Normal Me! Give it time. You will feel all sorts of weird stuff after the surgery but always remember why you did it..... You got this!

    Adult acne

I started having acne too, and I thought my face has gotten oilier from the new foods I'm eating after the surgery. I changed my moisturizer and face cleanser to oil free. From Oil of Olay, I am now using water base Nutrigena moisturizer and I forgot the brand of my cleanser and I'm at work right now. But in any case, people are noticing that my face has cleared and glowing too they said.. ha! Hope it continues to clear.
