A place for bandsters in their 60's
Ladydi, I just found this thread again after not knowing where to find it for ages (I'm not a computer whiz) Anyway reading it today I am so awed and inspired by your weight loss. I still haven't had a fill so I'm not lossing, but reading this thread gives me hope. I'm wondering if your faces got a lot more wrinkles after weight loss. People ususally don't believe that 'm 67 because my chubby face doesn't have wrinkles. I'm sure I'll have lots of them when the fat is gone. I don't really care. I'm doing this to feel better.

Christian bandsters
I'm so dissapointed today. I've been looking forward to my first fill for weeks and today the weather is horrible. Schools are cancelled and people are told to stay off the roads. I did get rescheduled for next monday so I guess I can wait that long. This whole process has been a lesson in patience. Maybe a much needed lesson!

Christian bandsters
Dear Fellow Christians.. I have too much time on my hands today and I got into reading all the atheists rants and raves about Christians. I didn't respond. They just want to fight with some one/ Their hearts are hardened. I think they are searching and don't even know it/ I think we should pray for them. I don't remember all their names and probably shouldn't mention them anyway. I'm sure you have all come across their posts. I almost left this board a few weeks ago because they kept popping up injecting their beliefs, making fun of newcomers etc. Then I found this thread or forum or whatever it's called and decided to try to ignore the negative and come here. I've been trying hard to pray for every one who calls themselves atheist on this site. I just stop and pray for their salvation. Join me if you're so inclined.

Hi. I'm new
Oh, there is all sorts of stuff you should know. Read everything about the band that you can find. How long it takes depends on your Dr and how many tests and the amount of testing he has you do. At your young age there shouldn't be much. It seems like the better job they do at pre surgery teaching, the better they will do with follow up. Try not to go to a surgeon that only sees you for surgery and offers no follow up. Be sure you can get your fills in a timely manner. No the band won't make you loose hair, but not getting enough protien and vitamins will. It is extremely important to learn how you will need to eat. And no it won't make you depresses. Many people feel much happier after weight loose. It depends too if you eat to live or live to eat. If food is your best friend, you might miss it and feel sad. I think you will be too busy buying your skinny clothes to feel bad. Good luck hon.

Monthly weight loss report & goal for next month
I was banded 10/26 and will get my first fill tue. I guess I haven't made a goal for Dec. I would hope to lose 10# but I will have to see how the fill works out. I have no restriction now and I'm not really losing more than 1/2# a week. At least I'm not gaining. I have to lose more before I start exercising very hard.

Christian bandsters
Hi everyone, I have lurked on this site before but never became part of it. I do pray for people with prayer requests. Hollyberry, how is your little boy that had the cleft palate surgery? And I pray for those with financial problems. I went through so many finicial crises when I was raising my family. God always came through for me. He doesn't always answer our prayers in the way we want, but he does answer them and I have always seen the wisdom of his answers eventually....sometimes years later. I ask His blessings on all of us as we struggle along in this world. Remember what awaits us in the next!

How can it be?
Hi Linda and Robin, I'm from Baraboo, Wi. It's about 45 min from Madison, near Wi Dells. I go to Madfison sometimes to the support group at the clinic (UW hosp) where I was banded. It's such a huge group that it seems more like attending a class that a support group. I don't know any of the people. I get more support from this and another site on the internet.

Why are people afraid of atheism?
Christians have something that is so awesome and undescribable that we just naturally want everyone to experience it. I believe though that faith is a gift from God and we are blessed if we have it. It's not anything we deserve any more than anyone else. I feel very humble to be chosen. I do believe that anyone can recieve this gift if they seek it. Maybe not. Saint Paul wasn't seeking it.........oh well, I guess all I can say is "what if you are wrong"?

HELLO, any oldies out there? I'm almost 63 and want to live.
Hi everyone, I'm in bandsters hell now. Haven't had a fill yet and so hungery all the time. Last night I had a lot of discomfort on my upper right side that got me really worried. I took some gasx and it's pretty muchy gone now. Otherwise I've been fine. All healed up nicely. I'm so glad I don't have diabetes or incontinence. Just a lot of pain in my knees (which have been replaced already) and feet. And high BP. It's almost impossible to exercise if it's on my feet. Hope everyone is feeling well today. Sharon

How long is the process????
I went to the first seminar in April and had surgery in Oct and my first fill will be Dec 11. There were no snags, no hold-ups and ins was approved right away. It just takes that long were I went.
