  1. Some hilarious pictures. The Redneck Page
  2. I totally understand where those of you who are not believers are coming from. I have found it impossible to explain faith to non-believers. It's like trying to explain "blue" to a blind person/ Even people of faith are amazed that they were chosen to believe. It's more of something just happening to you than something you learn. It's an overwhelming feeling of love, peace and humility that just happens. When it happened to me I just kept crying with such a feeling of being unworthy to recieve this wonderful gift. Christians just want to share it because it's such a great thing to have and it's hard to immagine someone not wanting it. By the way, I was 52 when the miracle happened to me and my life has changed completely. I'm not the same person now. My faith is unshakable. My God loves me and is always there for me.
  3. Kagoscuba, I believe all that "crap" too. I wouldn't vote for anyone just because of their religious beliefs but i believe I would vote against an atheist.
  4. WOW! It pays to never give up! I'm so happy for you.
  5. I can't even feel mine. I didn't know where it was until Dr showed me. He had no problem finding it to do the fill.
  6. Childre, children...stop your bickering or Santa will fly right over your house without stopping!
  7. Elena and Travel girl, Your letters broke my heart. I could just feel your pain. I pray that both of you will be healed someday. Sharon
  8. I've had that problem since I started on the pre surg diet. I believe it's the artificial sweetners in the shakes, crystal light, sf jello etc. I would advise trying not to have ant sweetners for a couple days and see what happens.
  9. Well you know you lost. Just assume she made a mistake. Even us nurses make a few now and then:cry. You are the one who knows how your clothes fit and how you feel. Put the whole conversation out of your mind and start fresh tomorrow. You are doing great. Sharon
  10. Hi and welcome, there is a post by Wendal called "How the band works " that I think will answer most of your questions. I would assume that when people get to goal they wouldn't have to watch what they eat as carefully maintaining..maybe ice cream instead of ff yogurt once in awhile. Food choices are as important as amounts. Or they could have an unfill. I have never read of too much weight lost being a problem.
  11. Well maybe it's a "What NOT to Do" book.<p>Well It's a "What NOT to Do" book. <img src="http://www.LapBandTalk.com/images/smilies/confused.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Confused" smilieid="11" class="inlineimg" /></p>
  12. You look absolutely adorable! Sharon
  13. I don't think you are getting enough calories. You need at least 60gms protien. Drink (sip) water all the time. Are you getting in 2 qts? I think you should add in 2 cans of a high protien low carb shake (like slimfast low carb) per day.
  14. How about saying "I'm only going to weigh myself once a month". "This is susposed to be the time for healing, not losing. I'll let you know when I can start losing".
  15. I think the reason none of us responded is because of shame. We have all those cute videos and never watch them. Shame, shame shame
  16. Well my Dr allows soft foods after the first week (pureed the first) so I had chili the 7th day post op.
  17. I feel that way after every surgery. It takes awhile to really get your strength back after being real inactive for a couple days. That's part of the reason they get people back on their feet so soon after surgery. As you get more active you'll get over that. And as someone else mentioned, be sure you have enough calories to keep your blood sugar level normal. old nurse Sharon
  18. EWW, that must be frustrating waiting for medicare to approve your hosp. I hate situations where I have absolutely no control over what happens to me, (or should I say when something happens to me?) You must be a patient person.
  19. All normal. Just watch for hot, red inflamed insisions or if the leaking is pus.
  20. My clinic doesn't band smokers. They have to quit at least 6 mos. before they even concider it. Thank heavebs I quit about 20 years ago....maybe more. I remember the grieving I did for a few days. Felt like I lost my best friend but after I got through the first few weeks it was such a relief and I felt so free and in control of my life!
  21. sfeiner replied to SueSue's topic in Rants & Raves
i'VE LOVED AND LOST 6 DOGS IN MY LIFE TIME. I don't think I'm over any of them. They all had their special qualities. My Baby Sophie is a year old today. She's my avator.) She's 1/2 Bishon and 1/2 maltese. Just got potty trained too. (I hope)
  22. A chihauhau and a cat!
  23. Trying hard, How scarey! I will pray for you. It scares all of us to hear something like this. Personally thats why I would never go to Mexico or anywhere that the Dr doesn't complete the care. The band is so much more tha the surgery and the Dr should be committed to the whole process. I pray for a fast recovery. Please keep us updated. Sharon
  24. Kathryn Rose, You should post more often. You sound very intellegent and understanding. There are some very bitter people on this forum. Just take the good stuff and let the rest go. Sharon
  25. Oh, I want that to be my problem too!
