  1. FishingNurse replied to a post in a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink a diet coke and a few sparkling waters everyday. Zero problems. And my weightloss is great. No stretching of the sleeve!
  2. Relax! It happened to me too. It's not weight gain. It's probably water weight/ etc. theres no way you can be consuming enough calories to gain weight. Keep on plan and don't weigh yourself for a week and you will be down those pounds plus some. This is normal!
  3. I have started dating too. :-) anyone worth dating will not judge you. I ended up telling my date before we met. (it was a fix up) and we are on date #5. I will admit it is a little odd to eat a few bites of my meal but he didn't care! And if your date cares move on to the next guy! If you don't want to tell someone up front that's ok too. You can meet for a drink and nurse a glass of wine for hours.
  4. My hair loss started at 4 months out!!!! Hope for the best but expect the worst. I thought it wouldn't happen to me either and I have lost 25% of my hair in a few weeks now. :-(
  5. I had a Mirena IUD for 3 years and I liked it, I had no periods. Right now I am using the Nuva ring-- so far so good!
  6. I have noticed the same thing! I would love to help let me know :-)
  7. I just said this to my friend!!! That I am a smaller version of the same exact chubby body!!! Ha ha
  8. I went back 6 days post op but I'm a workhorse. 2 weeks is perfect.
  9. I drink sparkling water and a diet coke everyday BUT you need to wait until you are at least 6 weeks out because you are such high risk for a leak until you are 100% healed. Please wait! Your new tummy is healing!!!
  10. I don't do any sugar free stuff. It's toxic!!! I feel like my weight loss has be great even with my daily vanilla latte wih regular vanilla syrup!
  11. I had just turned 28 when I was sleeved. Best decesion I have ever made! Life is so different and it keeps getting better.
  12. I had it from 2008-2011, and I loved it for the first while cause I had no periods. And I also had no significant weight gain. But it does take away libido have its been in a while. So I had it removed. I am getting the Paraguard copper IUD. (no hormones! yay)
  13. I did tuna with light miracle whip and really mashed it up or some really soft fish with tartar. Be careful with chicken so early out!!
  14. oh dear, I am kind of going through the same thing. But quite honestly-- if someone cares about you enough they will not be repulsed by your saggy skin. You can see from your photo you are beautiful and I am sure he sees your inner and outer beauty. I wouldn't want to be with someone that couldn't look past so saggy skin-- that will probably get better with time. I plan to start removing clothing soon with the hunky gentleman I am seeing and I plan to give him a tiny warning-- something like-- " I am a work in progress, :-)" and just tell myself it is what it is.
  15. yay I just joined you in the 180s too!!! it is soooooo fun!!!
  16. cute post. :-) you will know! its hard to tell really tell until you are all healed up, so just take it easy until then. 6 weeks was the turning point for me.
  17. I can see that your BMI is lower, (32 now?) So you will definately lose more slowly. Keep doing what you are doing and it will come off! It seems horrible and heartbreaking at the time but the scale WILL move again! I had 3 weeks with zero loss and I thought I chopped my stomach out for no reason-- but then the scale moved again! You will lose the weight. Hang in there!
  18. you look fantastic! What an amazing early holiday gift!
  19. Its my fave too!! if you like cooked crab try the spider roll, I had 4 small pieces over 45 mins at my sushi place the last time I went out. It was amazing and I even had a half a piece of my friends. It set well!!!
  20. Absolutely!! It keeps getting better!! :-)
  21. I thought I could avoid the hair loss, I did EVERYTHING I could-- (NIoxin, Biotin, 80 grams of protien, and all sorts of hair vitmains and regular, not chemically treating my hair.) I thought I was out of the woods then BAM at 3.5 months until now it has been falling out like crazy. I have cried at few times. It still looks good, but has half the volume. Luckily I had more hair than a wooly mammoth to begin with. But My primary doctor says its from the trauma of the surgery, the anesthesia, and the rapid weight loss. Its hard to avoid. I hope you can avoid it-- its slightly traumatizing-- esp. if your hair has been your security blanket like mine over the years. Do what ever you can, but be prepared for the worst.... good luck!
  22. I totally agree with Amanda!! You are only human-- Pre-sleeve I am sure I ate 2500 calories in one meal a few times per week!
  23. This is so funny because I just ha my 3rd date with my dream man-- he knows I has surgery even. When I'm nervous my sleeve doesnt hold much- I could only eat 3 bites of my burger Friday. And I felt embarrassed and said something like I wish I could eat more it's so good! But he just said who cares! We have a fourth date next Friday! This sleeve has given me so much confidence dating. It will be fine!
