Mirena

Ok so i have a question for the ladies... I'm currently off bc but I have an appointment on the 29th to have a mirena kid put in. I am two months out and doing well with my weight loss my concern is that the our will cause the weight loss to stop or cause a gain! Has anyone had surgery then had an iud? If so what was your experience with it? Did it slow the weight loss? Was the pain of the insertion bad? I just wanted something more reliable than the pill. Thanks for your help!

I have a Mirena place before I had my surgery. I am loosing weight fast and don't even know it's in. When they put it in, it felt like cramping but went away quickly, no more problems after that. I love it. No problems with my weight loss. ;)

UGH. I had the mirena in 2007 and had it removed in 2008. My periods STILL have not regulated since I had it. I used to be like clock work. My husband could feel it and ...between us ladies...you tend to discharge more. I hated it. It HURT when they put it in. Sorry to be such a "debbie Downer" but I HATED my mirena. Others I know Love it, I'm just giving you my version of "the bad and the ugly". No problems either way with weight loss or gain or hair loss. That's the brighter side.

I had it from 2008-2011, and I loved it for the first while cause I had no periods. And I also had no significant weight gain. But it does take away libido have its been in a while. So I had it removed. I am getting the Paraguard copper IUD. (no hormones! yay)
