Does stopping Nexium make you hungry?
I don't know about the weight loss part, but have read about people experiencing hunger from acid if they weren't on meds. Good luck on the scales moving soon!!

HELP!!! How can I motivate myself to exercise?
I have a Gazelle Glider that I just started using. Started out 20 mins listening to some upbeat music. I also use the Wii and did Wii Sports while still too early post op to do more strenuous exercise. Now I want Just Dance 2 and Michael Jackson, I hear they are fun!

Pissed off
Omg that really sucks and you're probably right about them just wanting to bill your insurance. I'd ask them why so many appts to figure something out, that's ridiculous!!! Good luck!!

oh no...!!! you didn't......!!!!!
If she's a good friend for a long time, i don't know that i would let her go just yet, but i would definitely say look.... What is the real problem here??? You HAVE seen me work my ass off and nearly kill myself dieting and exercising, and I don't have to do it again to prove anything to anyone. I have made a decision to go forward with surgery, my hubby supports me, and I would LOVE for my best friend to support me without all the negative backbiting comments. I don't want our friendship to be damaged, but my health has got to come first. I can do it without you by my side, but I don't really want to........ Maybe this will open her up to the real reasons she doesnt want you to be sleeved. It could be concern because of fear of losing you. It could be jealousy. It could be the bond that you've shared fighting this battle together she is not wanting to lose. Let her know y'all can still diet and exercise together. If she still continues the negativity, then yeah, might have to put some distance between you, at least for a while. Hope it works out!!!

Hubby wants bypass but I don't
That's exactly what I was about to ask, why bypass for him?? Weird. Let your hubby know he will lose faster and easier regardless, cuz he's a man and they always lose better than us!!!!(no fair!!) And you probably already have pointed out the regain ppl have with bypass, so it defeats purpose of putting yourself at more risks to lose a little more, if that's gonna come back anyway. But he will always be stuck with malabsorbing vitamins and nutrients. His tummy won't be able to ever be scoped. He will have to fight the hunger hormone with a tiny pouch that stretches easier than the sleeve. This part alone makes the sleeve way more attractive!!! I understand your concern! Good luck!

I'm so scared to go to Mexico now.
I never felt scared or concerned for my safety at all. They transported us everywhere, and I never saw any violence or strange behavior at all. I never went anywhere other than where they took me.

Thin on the outside, still fat on the inside??
While most of us will think of your roommate as bitchy, jealous, and unsupportive, she is correct. It depends on how she said it I guess. But at any rate, it is a good idea to look into therapy, a support group, or just some soul searching and self realization if you can't do therapy for insurance or $ reasons. Do some reading on self esteem and self worth. You can find a lot online. But this journey is definitely an emotional, mental, and physical one. I am hoping by working on all of it, that it will decrease my chances of weight regain later.

I know realize...
Yes i can totally relate! I don't feel on the inside, the way I look on the outside. A thin person trapped in the wrong fat body. I also feel younger and even act younger than my age. It's strange!

Hunger
I have slight hunger if i go a long time before eating but it's completely different than before surgery. I know acid reducers have already been discussed but sometimes one kind doesn't work and when the person changes meds it helps. I have seen others say nexium doesn't work as well. I have nexium and prilosec. I ran out of the prilosec once and used the nexium and it did not help as much. I had more stomach rumblings. So i got more prilosec and it worked better for me. It might make a difference on when you take it or if you take it on an empty stomach. I did take 2 before bedtime to protect my stomach during the night when it gets empty but now that I am out this far I am going to try just 1 and see if it's enough. It might be worth it to try the prilosec just to see if it's better for you. I would absolutely hate feeling hungry all the time! Good luck sweetie!
