  1. I agree, I know I talk a lot about PPI's, but I have read this on the boards before, that acid can cause this feeling. I hope I don't get it, I have a slight choking phobia! If you are already on a PPI, then do a search on OH cuz I know I've seen it discussed, and maybe there are other things people have tried and it helped.
  2. Wow, I can see a major difference, congrats on your success!! It's funny because I am the opposite and it drives me crazy sometimes not to see the scales move. :rant4: But I have dropped several sizes in clothes. I think it has something to do with how we're built, how tall, etc. That's just a guess though lol. But you look terrific, so don't sweat it, you will drop sizes soon.
  3. Amazing results girl, congrats!!! You are doing fantastic! I really like your hairstyle too, it looks great. I love seeing the before/during/after pics, such an inspiration. :cheer2:
  4. I shop as often as I possibly can lol jk. I do try to buy a couple things here and there and usually buy clearance for now, I hate the thought of spending $ on stuff and only being able to wear it a short while. I was at Walmart yesterday and they had some cute stuff for $7 on clearance. I live in a remote area so Walmart is usually a daily trip for groceries or meds, so I will take a quick look at the clearance racks. And we don't have much more than Walmart close by. Not even Goodwill or Salvation Army, so I don't do the thrift stores often. If I want to go to a Mall, I am 50-60 miles away, but that's probably a good thing lol. I can see me easily becoming addicted to shopping. I LOVE Kohls!! I can't wait till I reach goal, I am gonna really enjoy shopping at all my fav places as a normal size! I had someone on this board send me clothes for free, and I paid her shipping, which was totally awesome and helped me a lot! (thanks SarahS). I think there is a clothes exchange thread on this forum, which is cool cuz we can kinda swap around till we reach goal.
  5. I bought the Equate maximum strength acid reducer and it says "compare to zantac". I was gonna give it a try cuz I am almost out of the Prilosec. The generic Zantac doesn't say it's delayed release, so hope it works ok. Thanks for the tip on the time release thing, it makes sense.
  6. My sleeve amazes me everyday!! I love being full and satisfied on so little food!
  7. Pre-op was the hardest part for me! I really had to avoid food situations and stay distracted from it as much as possible. I stayed on this board a lot, texted Griselda, one of my sleeve sisters. I even slept a lot more than usual. Muted all food commercials lol. But post op is not as bad, because by then you've sort of "detoxed" plus the grhelin is mostly gone. And you know its vital to protect your staple line. It's hard but you can do it!! It's so very worth it!! Keep your eye on the prize!
  8. The Oasis of Hope is the side for Cancer patients. It is the Florence Hospital and that's where he's been since before May.
  9. You have done so well, congrats on your success!!! It really is hard to deal with kids and feelings about what they say. Despite it being innocent, things like that do affect us. I know when i reach goal, i will still be self conscious about my tummy and skin. I hope i can have a tummy tuck, but doubt that I will have the extra $.
  10. Yayyyyyy. So happy you're sleeved!! Congrats!!
  11. I highly recommend an acid reducer. Acid can cause a lot of tummy issues and weird hunger pain feelings. Most drs recommend for 6 months but lots of people continue it.
  12. Yeah i hated the diarrhea part! I had it about 2 wks. It prob is just the gas trying to leave, hope it gets better soon, its more annoying than anything.
  13. How far out are you? Are you on an acid reducer like prilosec or nexium?
  14. A pulled stitch or hernia? Not sure but please see a dr if it doesn't get better very soon.
  15. Congrats, you are both doing fantastic!!! :cheer2:
  16. It is very common, people refer to these as "food funerals". They get in all their favs b4 surgery. And b4 the dreaded pre-op liquid diet. But just keep reminding yourself you will be able to eat them later, just in way smaller portions. My hubby and I went to Outback for our anniversary tonight. I had 2 grilled shrimp, about 2 oz of the Alice Springs chicken, and 2 bites of baked potato. It was good! I was full and satisfied. I brought the rest home for another meal.
  17. Sometimes pain meds themselves cause nausea because if your on a liquid diet, then you can't eat. I hope your nausea and pain goes away soon!!
  18. Patience my dear......it will happen. Depends on too many things to say for sure. Like me, for instance, since I lost 35 lbs pre pre-op, its beginning to show now. Also depends how much you have to lose to start with. Being patient is the hardest part of this!!
  19. Wow, what a difference, congrats!! You're doing fantastic!! :cheer2:
  20. I'm so sorry (((hugs)))
  21. Congrats!!! Speedy recovery vibes being sent your way!!
  22. Oh wow girl, you have done such an amazing job and you look just fantastic and so happy!! I love the before/after pics. Incredible!! :cheer2:
  23. Yeah, they are a part of it, it happens to all of us, and it sucks!! None of us like it, but you have to just try to be patient, stop getting on the scales for a while (wk or so) measure yourself with a tape measure, or try on smaller clothes. Try to distract yourself with exercise or whatever. I love shopping myself lol. Congrats on the weight loss so far!!!
  24. Are you on a PPI acid reducer? This will make a big difference too, especially early out while our tummies are still adjusting to the smaller stomach and overproducing acid. You might want to try it if you aren't on one. You can get them over the counter and even generic. I use the generic Prilosec. I hope it gets better for you.
