  1. It's normal to swing back and forth with emotions, I think most of us did this too. It's very natural! A lot of people mourn food, but I really didn't because I knew I would be able to eat my favorites eventually, just not as often or in huge amounts. And with the hunger hormone gone or greatly reduced, it makes the changes so much easier.
  2. Dr Kelly uses 34 french oversewn. While I have extreme restriction with dense food, I was very happy I had no problem drinking and getting in fluids well immediately after being released from the hospital. I did not wanna struggle with staying hydrated. As far as I know the staples are titanium. I don't know the brand name. Good luck!!
  3. Congrats on your 2-month surgiversary!! You're doing very well!!
  4. I read somewhere as high as 85% of obese folks have a hiatal hernia. So pretty common for wls candidates to have one.
  5. I try to measure, use very small plates/containers. And i think someone said our meat shouldnt be bigger than the palm of our hand. The bougie is a tool the drs use to shape and size our sleeves during surgery.
  6. Canned chicken breast was dry to me even pre-op. Rotisserie chicken or cooking in the crockpot with cream of chicken or mushroom might be easier to eat.
  7. Nichole, congrats on being sleeved!!! I'm glad you seem to be having an easy recovery! So happy for ya!! :cheer2:
  8. Have you had it since surgery? Did you have problems pre-op? Is it only when you eat certain things like milk products? You could try a probiotic and/or yogurt in case your good/bad bacteria in your tummy is out of balance. If it persists you should call your dr, but the sleeve itself shouldn't be contributing to this since theres nothing done to the intestines. Good luck and i hope you get it resolved!!
  9. Have you been feeling restriction with other meats or eggs? Did you feel full or uncomfortable from eating 7-8 oz? I really don't think theres a way in 3.5 wks you could have stretched your sleeve, but it's possible your swelling has gone down in your sleeve giving you more room. I am 4 wks out, but I pretty much measure everything. I haven't really started on solid meat yet. Do you have any idea what size bougie you have?
  10. Wow, congrats on your success!! I am having the same results with my blood sugar. It's amazing, i love my sleeve!!! :cheer2:

  16. Keeping my fingers crossed that you hear good news very soon!!
  17. I went to Dr Kelly also. I had such an easy surgery and recovery it still amazes me. No pain, no nausea, up and walking around almost immediately. Dr Kelly is very skilled and experienced. Trish is great. I keep in touch with them now too. My sister went with me and cannot believe how well i did. We may be going back later so she can be sleeved by Dr Kelly too. I had a wonderful experience!!
  18. Congrats on 45 lbs gone!! You are doing fabulous, AND having fun and living your life. Sounds awesome to me!! Way to go! :cheer2: Kelly
  19. I was sleeved 5/16, and the scale isn't moving right now, but I expected the dreaded 3 wk stall, because I had read so much about it. It would have been great to skip it altogether though. I want the scales to move, but I have stopped weighing for now, to keep from getting too worried. I am already in smaller clothes, my rings are almost falling off, and my car feels too big when I get in it, because I am shrinking. I keep trying to adjust the seat and steering wheel lol. I had started losing weight pre-op, and had a 6 month stall after losing 35 lbs, so I can handle stalls somewhat, but hope since surgery, they won't last that long. Try to focus on measurements, clothes sizes, rings, other ways of measuring success. Stalls are inevitably going to be a part of our journey, especially when we have a good bit to lose. Don't get disheartened, it will come off eventually!!
  20. :welcome: Congrats on your decision to be sleeved. I hope your surgery goes easy and complication-free.
  21. Wow girl you look gorgeous, way to rock that sleeve!! :cheer2:
  22. The bread, even being wheat, could be the problem. Also fruit juice is high in natural sugar. Make sure you're getting in minimums on protein and water/non-calorie liquid. I bet you may be losing inches. Good luck!!
  23. You look fantastic!! That is awesome that he dieted with you, and very supportive!! :cheer2:
