  1. Well Congratulations! I totally feel you on wanting to be able to dance again...I can't wait...I can't dance longer than 2-3 minutes without getting tired...I was wondering how could this be???LOL!
  2. Congratulations! I have UHC but they wouldn't cover any of my expenses...therefore ended up being self pay! I was sleeved July 2nd and I love it...I'm sure you will too...good luck!

Wow...that is what I call Progress for sure! I can't wait to be able to post a pic like that....
  4. I am glad you are home and doing fine...It does get easier really fast. I know you have probably read that a thousand times but it is true!
  5. I just noticed your surgery was July 3rd and mine was done on July 2nd. Did you go to First Street Hospital? I tried malt-o-meal today last night and again today and it was fine. It has taken me 3 sittings to finish one serving...LOL! BTW I had only lost 3 pounds and someone made a post to tell me that was fine because most folk gain weight. The swelling causes you to gain after surgery and your body has to adjust first. I know my clothes and face shows I lost weight but not the scale. I am trying to patiently wait on that! LOL!
  6. I do love Dr. Mirza...he is sooo kind and very easy to talk to. I am glad I chose him!
  7. z3djinn...we used the same doctor...what a coincidence! I love the Bariatric Advantage shakes as well. I use 1% milk and I have the chocolate kind...it taste just like a chocolate shake. I think I will try to always have one shake a day until I meet goal!
  8. Awww...tear...THAT is the best feeling! Congratulations!
  9. I am ten days post op too and today I tried some Malt-o-meal and two spoons of mashed potatoes. I feel full now. My doctor said I could try these things along with scrambled eggs which I havent tried yet. He said I would know if my stomach rejected it and so far so good...no wavy feeling in my tummy...
  10. I wish you a speedy recovery!
  11. I had my surgery on July 2nd and my doctor gave me the impression that I was past the point of getting a leak. He just kind of phrased "you are out of the woods"...I am officially ten days out today.
  12. buy some chicken broth or soups and drain them for the liquid. I bought a can colander. I also bought a blender in a bottle which I use daily to mix my protein shake with milk. Those are the two most important investments to date and I am nine days out.
  13. At what stage can you have watermelon?
  14. Well thanks for the update...I am glad to know what happened. I almost got worried. Thanks again!
  15. Thanks Lisa...I am 5 feet 1 and perhaps that is why he used a 40 fr...well just as long as I am able to be successful years out ---I am happy!
  16. Lissa you just made me laugh really hard...and sorry for the typo it does say 40fr. I was just concerned over what it means long term. I want to lose the weight but I also want to keep the restriction to be able to keep it off...just a little frustrated!
  17. I just read my post operative report today and the doctor used a 40 in bougie! I am thinking...now that must be too large...Lord, please let me have significant weight loss (which hasnt happened yet) I am 9 days out and only 3 pounds lighter than the day of surgery! This doesn't sound good to me and I read on a post somewhere else that a larger bougie makes it harder to maintain weight loss down the line...HELP!!! Somebody please have statistics that are better than what I have seen...otherwise, I just spent thousands and had pain for nothing!
  18. Well I am eight days post op and still on clear liquids until tomorrow I hope. I have bought chicken noodle soup from Souper Salads and basically scooped all of the broth. The broth was good and tasty. I also bought some potatoe soup and strained it using a can colander and added broth to it to make it thinner. It was good also.
  19. I paid 8000 in Houston Texas.
  20. Too funny...you can always look for some on sale that are maybe a little too tight and watch as they loosen up...that's what I plan on doing...lol!
  21. Thanks! I walked on the treadmill at 1.3 speed...so it was really slow. I felt great and I will continue to walk everyday. I hope this helps my recovery and weight loss...
  22. Thanks for the responses. I walked on the treadmill...very slowly...for 30 minutes. My goal was to get in some excercise and it is done at one time. I walk around the house and move around but Im not sure if that truly counted as the 30-45 minutes that he told me to walk or bike daily.
  23. I was trying to decide between the gym and the treadmill on really slow or walking in the mall consistently for 30-45 minutes. Any sleevers close to my date out there? What are you doing for exercise?
  24. Today makes my one week post op and I feel a little sore but relatively normal. You will see that things get wayyyy better real soon! Just make sure you are sipping. I bought a toddler sippy cup the ones for 12 months and up because it looks more adult like...lol and took the stopper out. It really helps and I don't have any problems keeping the protein shakes down or crystal light...just keep trying it will work. Good luck and you are on the loser side now...LOL!
  25. Hey just checking to see if any sleevers out there have decided to head to the gym yet. If so, are you slow walking on a treadmill or riding an excersice bike? If so, which one and for how long? I am going this morning and try for the first time...Yay me...pray for me!
