Why Am I Starving?

I am day 10 post op and I am hungry, tummy growling and all! We went on a two mile walk n by the time we got home I was so hungry. I drank a 8 ounce shake before we left. I ate a 4 ounce pudding cup in like 10 mins which is supposed to take me 30 and I drank some water too. I do not want to drink another protein shake- I have to force them because I am so sick of them, Bleh! Thank God on Tuesday I can have purees! Anywho I don't understand why my little pouch isn't filling up n making me feel full? I am still hungry!

I am ten days post op too and today I tried some Malt-o-meal and two spoons of mashed potatoes. I feel full now. My doctor said I could try these things along with scrambled eggs which I havent tried yet. He said I would know if my stomach rejected it and so far so good...no wavy feeling in my tummy...:)

any chance it's heartburn? I know a lot of times the excess acid is confused for hunger. Try taking an antacid and see if you feel less hungry.

A lot of the books I've read mentioned that until real food is started you don't fill up like you expect on the liquids and shakes, pudding etc. One really good book "A Sleeved Life" I bought on Kindle. Let us know if this is the case for you too!
