  2. This week was the perfect disaster! My mom is visting so we have been eating out a lot and my birthday was last week...grrrrr on top of that all I need a fill! So anyways Dawn Checking in at 207! Up 1 pound *sigh*
  3. My response would be to ask a lot of questions. I would as why they felt it was the easy way out? What kind of research they have done on the subject etc etc. 99% of the time they probably wouldnt have an answer. Then maybe you can enlighten them on the subject. let them know that the band is nothing more than a tool to HELP you lose weight. It will not be doing it foryou. That you must exercise and eat right as well.
  4. I always weigh 2-4 more pounds heavier at night than I do in the morning. It makes sense when you think about it. At night your full of salt, water and food!
  5. I have been watching myself shrink for the last few months and feeling pretty proud of myself for losing this much weight. Till this past weekend. Both my mom and my sister and were here visiting me and they are tiny! Height and weight wise! My mom decided she wanted us all in a photo together so thinking how great ive been looking in pictures lately I said oh sure why not. Well seeing me in those photos next to them...oh man did I feel like CRAP!!! I know i still have a long way to go...I just keep telling myself that I will get there. after all I didnt put on all this weight over night and I am sure not going to take it off over night.
  6. First and foremost I want to get to a health weight and be able to get off my high blood pressure medicine. I wanna be able to walk into any store and buy clothes right off the rack. I wanna be able to go on roller coasters and not have a fear if Im going to fit or not. I wanna be able to go sky diving and parasailing and not worry about the weight limits of these activities!
  7. I had 5 incisions and all the scars seem to be fading except the one across my stomach. That one still is bright red... :/ oh well its only been 4 months so maybe as the years go by it will fade away?
  8. Not to bad news but when I get emotional or sad and I cry....oh Yes my band tightens so bad I feel like I can hardly breath
  9. Dawn checking in for 2/8/12 I am down 2 pounds this week to 206. Im surprised. I had a back injury this week that kept me from exercise...also wasnt eating the best foods either.
  10. I eat popcorn and eat nuts once in awhile. Never been a fan of gum and besides I would be to afraid I would accidently sallow it lol
  11. The self pay people at my surgens office have to pay 15000. I had insurnace thankfully but I think even 15000 would be worth it

  15. I took pain meds for a total of about 5 days I think! Wasnt to bad at all
  16. This past summer my job gave us new shirts to wear. I was unable to fit into mine cause I had accidently ordered a ladies XL instead of a Mens XL. I couldnt even get this shirt past my stomach. Today as I was dressing for work I decided to try it again. It fit perfectly! Then when I went to work I got complimented by my co workers about my weight loss. I guess its easier to see that a person has lost weight when they are not hiding behind such baggy clothing lol
  17. I have a 10cc band with 5cc's at the moment. I have only had one fill. I saw my dr last week and she didnt feel I need another fill because i was doing well. I was fine with that. I dont get hungry in between meals and I cant eat a lot of food. Im pretty happy at the moment
  18. I had the stomach flu about two weeks ago. I was worried about the band slipping because I was vomiting. I survived. I definetly didnt want an un-fill because once I kicked the flu I knew I would be hungry and ready to eat!
  19. I have been banded since October...I am still teaching myself to eat slower and smaller bites. LOL I hate being "stuck" so I know one of these days the lesson will stick
  20. This is normal. I used to feel like that almost all the time before I got the surgery. I had to go through the 4 month supervised diet and so many times I almost backed out. I tell ya what though....I am so glad I have done this. I have lost only 49 pounds so far but I feel so much better! Even getting up in the morning is easier. I used to be in so much pain because of my weight and now thats not the case at all. I seem to be a much happier person now (at least according to my husband lol) I just have a brigter outlook on life in general
  21. I know too know how you feel. About a week after surgery I was on the liquid diet and very hungry. My husband stopped at dunkin donuts and brought home a half dozen. No its not stupid that you want to cry because I DID cry. lol It gets easier over time. The good news is you will be able to have those things again only you will be eating much smaller protions. Hang in there...this next few weeks is the hardest and then your home free
  22. Dawn Checking in at 210! Down 3 pounds this week
