  1. You are going to love Dr. Aceves and all his staff. Everyone that has gone to him has had a wonderful experience there, and I am sure you will too!
  2. Katy, I am glad to see you posting. I hope you are able to get your sleeve surgery like you want. Tiffy had some problems with her stomach from the band and she has been very successful with the sleeve.
  3. Thanks Steve. We have been waiting for your recipes.
  4. Greek Yogurt has 10 grams of protein and I really love it. I get the blueberry. Other things I eat for protein are string cheese (low fat) and chicken breast. At 3 months post surgery, you should be able to eat salad. I love to make salad and shred chicken breast on top. Salad goes down very easily for me because you can chew the lettuce up until it's just water. I use low fat dressing and it makes the chicken breast moist. I also eat a lot of chicken salad, tuna salad and egg salad. I love tilapia as well. All of these things have a lot of protein in them.
  5. I can't be bothered with tracking. I ate a lot of junk food over the last week while I was out of town and I was shocked that I didn't gain an ounce. I wasn't around a scale. I am not in the losing phase, and I am sure if I were, I would be a lot more careful. It's nice to be happy with where I am now, almost 6 months post op.
  6. I was trying to take it every other day and it wasn't heartburn, it was more like an ache. I know the feeling from having an ulcer. I can totally see how people can mistake it for hunger.
  7. I have not seen my surgeon since surgery. He is in Mexico and I am not. My pcp prescribes Protonix. I have heard Mac say we are supposed to be on an acid reducer for 6 months. I tried the past few days not to take it and my tummy did not feel good. I was taking it before surgery, so I don't see what the big deal is to just stay on it. I had some nausea after surgery and it eventually went away. I have no idea what caused it, or if it was related to surgery.
  8. Everyone has been telling me to get a fitting at Vicky secrets, so I did while I was in AZ. they told me what I already knew. I am in between sizes. I am not a B or a C They could not find a bra to fit me. I need to look at that brand that has "almost" as a size. It's frustrating! My DD told me to buy a C and buy those things that look like chicken breasts and shove them in there. I am not about to use falsies!
  9. Those of us that meet in the chat room in the evenings get to know each other a little bit better. Let's all get to chatting!
  10. It's nice to have people on your friends list, but I haven never figured out what the purpose of that is. I consider myself to be friends with everyone on this board because we are like a big happy family.
  11. You need to get slim fast low carb if you are going to drink slim fast. I drank a lot of it at one point and time and I like it. It's good when you don't have a mixer handy to take and go. Any that is not low carb slim fast is way too high in carbs though.
  12. With the RNY surgery, also called gastric bypass, they do leave the stomach there that they separate off. They make a small stomach which they call a pouch, and leave the rest of it right there!
  13. '' You were with me! We went to GNC. I bought some other stuff there too. They did not have them at the GNC here in AZ but they had them at HiHealth so I picked up another box today!
  14. I am almost at 6 months and I have heard the hunger comes back at 6 months so I will have to get back to you on that. I am never really hungry since my revision from band to sleeve. I eat because it's time to eat. I have a Protein drink when I get up, lunch at noon and dinner around 5pm. Head hunger is in the evening when I usually have a fudgesicle.
  15. I love the Oh Yeah mint choc. Protein bars. I bought a box in Las Vegas but I haven't ordered them online. I am going to look at GNC while i am here in Arizona. I take calcium citrate chewables that I get from vitacost.com. they are kind of sweet, but I just chew gum as soon as I chew them up. It's better than having more pills to take. I don't like vitacost's chewable mulit Vitamin. As soon as I am done with the bottle, I am switching to Costco's adult gummy Vitamins.
  16. I love the sleeve too. It seems like maintaining my weight loss is so effortless. I too wish I had done this years ago!
  17. I have never been told that. I thought we were told that because we still have a stomach even if it's a small stomach, we still absorb what we need from our food. I do take a multiple Vitamin and calcium citrate though. Good luck Manatee. Keep in touch with us so we know how you are doing!
  18. I wish I liked to clean. I am in Arizona cleaning my dad's house and hating every minute of it. It looks clean, but it's filthy if that makes any sense. I have to scrub the floor on my hands and knees to get the grout on the ceramic tile clean. Here in AZ everyone has tile in their living rooms. My dad's back yard is even tiled! I have to wash walls, and deep clean and I would love to be doing anything else. Now I am taking a break at Star bucks and using their WIFI.
  19. That is not true that no dr. will give you a sleeve if you don't gain the weight back. I know people who got the sleeve who were below goal weight but miserable with the band and Dr. Aceves took out their band and did their sleeve, all in one surgery, just like he did for me. I gained back 15 lbs from being unfilled and I wasn't about to just keep gaining and that is why I went to Dr. Aceves to get that stinkin band out. It was the best decision I have ever made!
  20. I can't chat for a week because I am in Arizona getting my dad's house ready to rent to snow birds. I'll check back with the chatters when I return on Sunday!
  21. My band doctor and my regular doctor recommend Miralax. It's not a stimulant laxative. I take it every other day and I have no problems at all. It's great stuff and after a few days that you're on it, you will have normal bms. Make sure you drink lots of Water though. It puts water in the stools to make them soft and normal. Sorry if that's graphic. I know it used to be a prescription and my mothers doctor prescribed it to her.
  22. Once the surgery began, the surgeon found massive amounts of adhesions. My band was gone from my stomach and my body had absorbed it. That's why I had my band out. I could just imagine what it was doing inside there. I wanted it out because I figured that throwing up in my sleep was not a good thing, and if I was doing that, what was going on with my band where I could not see if it was doing damage to my stomach. I am so glad I did. Living with the sleeve is pretty much effortless.
  23. I wish this surgery would make me want to clean. I am still just as much of a slob as I always was. I spend way too much time on the computer when I should be doing something productive!
  24. I saw a good movie today. It was called Whip it. It was directed by Drew Barrymore. It starred Ellen Page who was in Juno. I liked it a lot. I would give it 3 stars. Please keep adding movies if you see or rent a movie. I plan to rent What about Bob since it's been recommended to me a few times. One of the other funny movies of all times in my opinion is There's something about Mary.
  25. tiff I am glad you found something you like. Now you can get more protein in!
