  1. I usually go in every evening and minimize the window and do other things surfing the net. The window stays down at the bottom of my screen and the doorbell rings when someone comes into the chat room. I can hear it ring and open the window. It's usually around 7-8:00 Pacific time but I leave the window open until I go to bed.
  2. 1) Plans for the weekend Going to the gym Sat and Sun. morning. Helping some friends move Sat. afternoon. Will probably watch a movie with my friend who had a heart attack at some point over the weekend. 2) What's your favorite food and has this changed since you got surgery (assuming you are post-op)? My favorite food will always be Greek food. 2nd fav. is Mexican. Nope, it hasn't changed at all. 3) What was the last movie you saw in the theater? All about Steve and it was stupid. 4) How many states have you lived in? Oregon and Illinois
  3. If anyone wants to talk, I am leaving the chat window open and listening for the door bell.
  4. I had a really hard time switching over in the beginning. It was really hard to figure out how much to eat. You may have to eat more often in the beginning if you can only eat 4 teas. at a time. Don't be afraid to supplement with Protein drinks if you can't eat solids or mushie stuff yet.
  5. Vegas, see if you ins. will cover Protonix. It comes in generic now and it's great!
  6. I wish my addiction to sweets would go away. Everyone else says things taste too sweet to them, but not to me. I would love it if sweet things didn't taste good anymore!
  7. Go to the UserCP at the top of the page and it will bring you to a column on the left and from there you can find the private messages. You can type in Susan's name and send her a pm from there. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!
  8. I am anxious to hear the outcome. Didn't the doctor have any advice for her?
  9. I've heard that's good! Everyone, Please share your favorites!
  10. Has anyone rented any good movies lately? The weekend is coming and I need some opinions so I have more to choose from. I think I will check into Steph's suggestion of Revolutionary Road if nobody suggests anything else. I usually watch movies with a friend, and our movie tastes are different, so sometimes it's hard for me to pick one we both will like. She is the friend I have mentioned before, who had a heart attack at age 48 so she has been stuck in the house a lot lately.
  11. I rarely tell anyone. I exercise daily for a couple hours at the gym so I don't feel guilty when people ask me how I keep my weight down.
  12. I am opening up the chat window early again tonight. There are some shows on tv I want to watch later. I will leave the window open and listen for the door bell.
  13. My gym has tvs in front of all the cardio equipment. There are other gyms that would cost me less, but I have to have those tvs. Sometimes I plan my gym time according to what I want to watch on tv.
  14. Not sure if Judy was having surgery today or if she arrived in Mexicali today. Which ever it is, she is in great hands. I look forward to hear how you're feeling Ky. Hen, Judy!
  15. I take Protonix. It comes in generic so it's pretty cheap, with my ins. It prevents acid from forming.

I am so happy for you Tiffy!
  17. Congrats, and hopefully we will not be too much work!
  18. I will never eat coconut that's for sure. I ate some pumpkin seeds the other day and thank God, I didn't have a problem. Makes me scared to eat them again, and I sure love them.
  19. Welcome! I am thrilled to have the band gone and have the sleeve. I hope you are able to get the sleeve surgery too. Living with it is so much better than living with the band.
  20. Welcome! you will love the sleeve and love it here with our sleeved family!
  21. That is a fantastic weight loss Cajun. I have to sleep on my back according to my ortho doctor, so I got used to that years ago.
  22. I hope some of Dr. Aceves' patients will read their surgery report. I was told he uses a 32. I was surprised when someone told me to read mine and it said 36
  23. There are also some books that MacMadame has recommended focusing on emotional eating
  24. I am opening the chat window earlier tonight. Anyone want to talk?
  25. I totally understand. My bf broke up with me after telling me just a week before, that he had never been happier in his life and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Then my dog died a couple of weeks ago,who was definitely my baby. We do learn other coping methods. Unfortunately, grazing is still possible with the sleeve. It's totally possible for me to eat nuts, chips, and candy. I have to decide for myself that I don't want to gain any weight back and head to the gym when I feel stressed out. We all understand and are here for you.
