Hello, I'm a Newbie

Hi everone! I'm new to the forum. :001_tongue: I am 57 years old and was banded last Sept. My highest weight was 278, and that was when I first talked to the Dr about the band. At the time of being banded I was 267. I am now at 244. The surgeon says that I have not lost enought weight for the time frame. :thumbup1: I have tried very hard with very little success. The PA suggested that maybe the sleeve will be a better choice for me. I have an appointment next week to talk to him about a revision to the sleeve. I had labs last week and my thyroid level is up a little. Not sure how this will effect things.

I have been lurking around the forum and am excited about being part of the family of sleevers and making some new friends.

Hi Nana and welcome to our forums. You will love it here, we are like a big family.

I revised from the band to the sleeve in April. I think the band works wonderfully for many people, but then there are those of us that do have problems with it. I am so glad there was an alternative available. I have been very happy with my revision.

Let us know how things go next week. And if you have any questions, don't be shy, ask away. We love to help each other out here.

Welcome Nana - sorry to hear that the band is not working out for you -- I hope all goes well next week for you and that you get the OK for the sleeve. Keep us posted.

Welcome to VST.com. Whatever decision you go with, we will be here to support you. After all, we are all trying to reach our weight loss goals here. Thanks for joining us. This site is great for general questions, venting and the occassional off topic chat.

Good luck

Hello Nana,

Welcome to the forum. I also have 3 grandchildren that call me nanny. Good luck to you during your journey. Keep us updated.

Welcome! I am thrilled to have the band gone and have the sleeve. I hope you are able to get the sleeve surgery too. Living with it is so much better than living with the band.
