Nervous newbie

Hey guys!

Im new at this site and Im located in Sweden. Is it ok for me to peek in and say hi even tho Im not from the States? Does it count if I have a canadian boyfriend? :)

Im scheduled for a sleeve surgery in Stockholm on the 26th of october and Im getting more nervous by the hour. I could use some assurance that I've made the right decision. Im an expert when it comes to losing weight. I've weighed everything between 130 pounds and 230 pounds, all within the last few years. My problem is I cant keep the weight off once I lose it. I've never been able to eat the recommended 2000 calories a day, if I do that, I gain 2 pounds a week. Even with a job where I constantly move around. So if Im forced to restrict my calory intake to a high of 1500 a day for the rest of my life, why not decrease my stomach pouch to match the intake..I cant seem to maintain my target weight any other way. I'm hoping to be able to stay at a healthy weight after having the surgery and losing the pounds I need to lose. OH I so hope I've made the right decision. :crying:

Hello and welcome to our forums! I love that you are from Sweden. I actually just reconnected with an old friend on facebook that was an exchange student at my high school for two years and was from Sweden.

I think most of us here are experts on losing weight and have tried just about every diet known to mankind. Like you said, we just weren't very good at keeping it off. You will love, love, love the sleeve!

Welcome! you will love the sleeve and love it here with our sleeved family!

Welcome Cattster - and of course it's PERFECTLY FINE that you join our family - doesn't matter what country you are from - we have Canadians, Ozzies, I think there is one from Saudi Arabia ... so we don't care where you're from - we all share a common problem and a common goal. We'll look forward to hearing about your progress!
