  1. I am sorry Judy but I am not good with the computer to make a link. You have to go to forums, then go to the food section and there is a thread titled something like places to get samples. There is also a rate your liquids thread in the food section too. It would be good for you to get some samples because you never know what you're going to like after surgery. That way you won't be stuck with a big tub of something you don't like.
  2. Thanks. I will mention it to her.
  3. That does not surprise me in the least. I found a picture of me from 10 years ago. There are not very many pictures of me at my highest weight. I am so glad I had WLS and even more glad that I had the band removed and got the sleeve!
  4. You should be on liquids before you get to the mushy stage. Go to the thread that has samples you can order of liquid protein. A lot of people don't like the protein drinks that are milk based like chocolate. If you tend to go for fruity flavors, try the Nectar drinks.
  5. I am really happy for you Judy. Soon you will be on the weightloss wagon and on the road to recovery!
  6. So do you all agree that my fitness pal is the easiest to use? I am asking for my friend. I have mentioned her before. She is 48 yrs old and had a heart attack. Her cardiac rehab program included a session with a dietitian. She was surprised when she was told how many fat grams and calories she was told to have, and doesn't know how to figure it out according to which foods she eats. She said she looked on line and found fitday but it did not have a lot of the foods that she eats.
  7. Everything gives me gas. It's a big problem. I think splenda gives me gas too. I know anything with sugar alcohol gives me gas worse than I ever thought was possible. Milk products definitely give me gas too. Like I said, it's a big embarrassing problem!
  8. I think it's very inappropriate! Just kidding. I am not getting any since I don't have a bf at the moment so NO FAIR!
  9. Just tell them they will eventually be able to anything they want. It's not like the band where you better plan to give up certain foods forever. They should also know that even though they can eat anything, they can't eat very much of it. Some people get disappointed that the portion size they can eat is a very small portion.
  10. The majority of us here had our sleeve done by Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. We are all thrilled with him, and his staff and the hospital. If you are a self pay, I would not go to anyone else. He is extremely experienced and better yet, he is a wonderful man.
  11. There is someone who had her band removed named Katydid in the tell you story section. She is really upset that after she had her band removed from major complications, she has now gained all her weight back. I don't think you will be sorry if you have the band removed and get the sleeve. Living with the sleeve is so much easier than living with the band. I have never regretted my decision to get the sleeve at the same time I had my band removed.
  12. I can't wait to hear all about your time in Mexicali. Hope your recovery goes smoothly.
  13. I am happy for you Norma that your time is finally here. Can't wait to hear all about it. I know you will love Dr. Aceves.
  14. I will be anxious to hear what Bob finds out. I have never had that happen.
  15. I don't think it disappears until you're off liquids and eating soft foods. You can take immodium.
  16. I have my band too Manatee. It sits on my dresser and every once in awhile I like to look at it and wonder what I was thinking when I agreed to have it wrapped around my stomach. I hope your recovery continues to go well!
  17. No, the taller you are the more you need is what I was told.
  18. I have the chat window open so come on in and talk!
  19. The nutritionist that comes to my support group who is a registered dietitian says you have to go by your height to determine how much protein you need. She said for me at 5'2" I need 60 grams per day. That is pretty easy to get and I am sure that I get more than that.
  20. Just don't be afraid to ask us anything. We are very open and try to be helpful. I wonder how long it would take to get the Protein drinks that you can order online. There is a thread in the food section where it lists all the places you can order samples.
  21. The NSI Orange ones are the chewables I was talking about. They are sweet. I am not crazy about them, but I'd rather chew them up than take anymore pills. I chew them up fast and then drink some Water and it's fine. I will try the ones you're talking about on my next order tiffy. I went to the link you provided and it comes in other flavors too. I never knew they had liquid. I just asked on the phone for chewables, never even thinking about a liquid being available.
  22. Another favorite protein of mine is taco meat. I just make the meat and put sour cream or greek yogurt on it and it's very yummy too.
  23. Does anyone want to talk tonight? I have m chat window open in case anyone is interested.
  24. I think I should do the 5 day pouch diet too . It's a good way to get back to basics.
  25. have you tried any of the syntrex nectar drinks? They are lower in carbs and some people like them. You can order samples.
