    CONSTIPATION!!

Oh man, the struggle is real. I used the Smooth Move tea. It's best to take it the night before, pray to your deity of choice and try again in the morning. I will never ever again laugh at anyone who complains about constipation. I really had no clue how bad it could be. Pushing is bad for you so I would sit there and "crown" for a long time, then I would make the mistake of pinching and that log beast would quickly retract back in like an unlocked tape measure! After two days of the same, I actually started rocking and bouncing on the toilet until I finally gave birth and nearly wept in relief and triumph. When I finally emerged from the bathroom, my dad was wearing headphones...

    CONSTIPATION!!

Hello All. I had my Sleeve surgery 8/16/2018 and had the best of times! The doc said it was straight forward, the recovery was relatively painless and I was able to do clear and full liquids...just one little thing that got by me...I DIDN'T STAY ON TOP OF THE STOOL SOFTENER!! Day 7 cam around and i thought I was going to DIE! I COULDN'T pass a poo nor urinate! I called the doc and really got no help, just some worlds of assurance that it would pass naturally (like a baby!)...I went to the ER in hopes they would give me an enema or DO SOMETHING!! But alas, they only hydrated me and verified that there was no obstruction ( I can't WAIT for that bill!!) ...I was able to void a little, but it was only thanks to my sister helping me at home was I able to get relief AFTER 2 FLIPPING DAYS OF TORTURE!! I am now FOR SURE on top of the softener, but my poor body has been traumatized and is still afraid! I will see the doc for a follow up on Tue. I fell like I know NOTHING about this new way of life and feel completely unprepared! I really try to sip the hours I am not eating, but still feel dehydrated and don't want to have negative results because of this. Any words of advice or encouragement? Thank you all so much, I know WE GOT THIS!!

I have an 11 year old and I was going to tell him I was having a simple procedure on my stomach. I’m hoping that he doesn’t get to anxious. He’ll be busy with school and friends so I think that will help. Not a bad idea to have your daughter sleep over at your sisters. That’ll take her mind off of it to do something fun! Good luck!

    Eating Righ After Surgery

500 calorie limit at six months out from surgery?????? Am I getting this wrong? I can see 500 in the first stages after healing from surgery, You should be at higher calories at this point. Contact your surgeon's office dietician to check calories and diet instructions. You may find more food enjoyment with increased calories and trying new bariatric recipes and real food (you should be off shakes by now)(shakes never make me feel full or satisfied) Nutrition can still be flavorful. Google bariatric recipes. Log your food to insure the calories and macros total to fit you plan at the end of the day. I use myfitnesspal - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myfitnesspal.android&hl=en_US My dieticians recipe site for food ideas: http://insidekarenskitchen.com/bariatric-friendly-recipes/ Chicken fajitas - Make some up without the tortilla. Bariatric pizza recipes Sugar free pumpkin pie parfait If you are cooking for your family. They can eat what you eat. Example chicken fajitas let them have the tortilla. Nothing wrong with our families learning to eat healthy. Kids take on what we model to them. Side note: This is not talking about your situation at home. I have my own opinion on cooking separately for family members. Especially if it's foods that will temp you and derail your program. I would not cook for anyone that can't be supportive. I would set out cereal and milk, lunch meat and bread, frozen dinners for them to microwave. If they want a home cooked meal it will be healthy. Ok off my soap box. I would love to hear back if your office increases your calories. I also want to know how you feel about your food world after trying new foods and recipes.

    Should I switch to RNY?

My sister-in-law had RNY over 10 years ago and she is still doing really well. Of the two surgeries, RNY is the gold standard and has the best results long term. You never hear of someone going in for a revision from RNY to sleeve, just saying.

    CONSTIPATION!!

I can't handle taking another pill, so I found a herbal tea call smooth move. It counts for 8oz of water to your goal of 64 oz a day. Which I still have a hard time to reach. But I drink the tea at night and in the morning BM.
