Hey everyone!

Im packing my bags for the hospital today. Tomorrow is my big surgery day! Does anyone remember the feeling of freezing after surgery? I just need to know, do I need to pack extra warm clothes? My nurse told me, people tend to run a fever afterwards. Usually that means you could be cold. I just wanted to see what you all have experienced. Thanks for reading and letting me know your input.

Same with me, I didn't run a fever after surgery and I wasn't cold at all. I remember just having the sheet and light blanket they provide in the hospital. I think I even went with just the top sheet for awhile.

Congratulations on your arrival date and best wishes to you! Speedy recovery!

No fever with me! I was chilly, but I usually am in hospitals. They kept me covered up, they have extra blankets. So it's really up to you. I used theirs so I wouldn't have to carry my own

My surgery is Monday and hopefully all will go well. I packed my own blanket and pillow for my own comfort . I normally do not get cold and always hot but since I lost 22lbs since i started my journey i find that i get colder now. I guess its up to how you feel and what you want to bring.

Bringing a warm blanket is a great idea but I don't get cold easily and hopefully won't be be in there very long.

Essential items I had and used: CHAPSTICK....sooo dry, biotene mouthwash to help with dry mouth, a comfortable pillow from home, a small soft blanket from home, phone charger with long cord, gasX melting strips, baby wipes.

I left the hospital with more than I took:-). I anticipated staying one night. So I wore comfy clothes and brought my phone and charger, toothbrush and hair brush. That's it. I had everything I needed at home and the hospital staff provided me everything I needed there. Warm blankets, extra pillows, pain meds (ha!). My husband brought me an sweater when he picked me up.

I took the plastic wash bin (for my canning), 4 pair of sticky socks (my son loves them). Lol

Home is where I wanted to be so I decided I'd get out of there quick:-)

I also got a gift bag from my NUT.

Well, I was 400lbs after surgery, so it would have taken a bucket of ice to make me cold. I actually wished they had a fan in my room.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
