Hi all,

I had my surgery back in December and I am pretty happy with the results. My problem is that I am craving sweets all the time and I did not have a sweet tooth before surgery. Now all I want is Cookies and ice cream. Also, I can eat all kinds of food without feeling sick (not large quantities), but then I save the rest for later.

I need a menu, low in carbs any suggestions???

If you've increased carbs - that's probably what's triggered the cravings. My plan suggests doing 50% Protein and 50% Produce each meal. Avoid bread, Pasta, rice. You can try going back to basics and get back to ketosis to try and rid yourself of the sugar cravings. Stay strong!

Agree with @@KristenLe

Over the 6 months of visits with my dietitian, she pounded in my head that not enough Protein will cause sweet cravings. She challenged me on it. So I played around with it and she was so right!

So maybe just go back to the basics and increase your Protein throughout the day?

I'm no expert by a long shot, but sometimes the basics are so obvious we forget them.

I'm 3 weeks post op and I feel like I can almost eat normal amounts. Today I had a bowl of chili with non flavored Protein. Have any of you felt that your not filling like you expected ?

At 3 weeks - it's important to measure your portions and not eat more than allowed or suggested on your plan. My plan indicates only 1-2 ozs at that point. It's too early for your stomach to be able to communicate to your brain that you are full. You don't want to eat until you feel full - just satisfied.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
