Any recommendations for DS surgeons near Western North Carolina?

Recommended Posts

The practice I started going through for surgery seemingly does not have any awareness of or knowledge of DS - which I find difficult to believe, but the lack of knowledge of it has been verified by the blank faces when I attempt to ask a general question - so I am in search of a solid practice and surgeon with whom I can discuss DS as an option. Any suggestions? Or has anyone travelled just for surgery and really liked the surgeon?

I am using Dr. Paul Enochs with Bariatric Specialists of NC. They are good, but if my insurance would have allowed it REX Bariatric was my #1 choice for office. I'm having the DS in the next few weeks. I get my surgery date today after my Final results visit at noon.

Look into Dr. Sudan at Duke's program. He is top in this procedure and the Duke program is worth the trip. At my pre-op day yesterday, 2 of the 6 people there were from out of state. For the DS especially, you only want the very best doctor, and Dr. Sudan is world renowned in this.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
