Hello,

I'm new to the community and was curious if any of you were above 350-380 and the DS recommended for you? I feel like he was looking toward something that was going to benefit his pockets instead of taking my concerns into consideration . I've researched quite a bit and been to several info sessions each of them tell me I can expect to lose between 50-60 % of my current body weight. He made it seem like I would only lose 50-60 lbs with the sleeve. I'm interested in knowing how much you all have lost since having the vgs. Thanks

@@Faithful86 Hello! At my highest I was 382 ... I was 359 at surgery ... and currently 306 .... I had surgery on 7/8/15 ... My doctor gave ME the choice ... I wanted sleeve because it didn't look as "nasty" as bypass ... meaning ... I didn't want my innards re-routed ... and haven't heard too many success stories with lap - band .... mostly how S -L - O - W it is ...

If YOU want sleeve ... that is what you do ... if this surgeon doesn't agree with what YOU want and pushes for something else ... go see another one ... There are plenty of them out there !

When you find the right one ... you won't have to push back or fight for what you want ...

GOOD LUCK !!!!!!! :)

Hello! at the beginning of my journey I was 351. At surgery, I was 329. As of this morning, I am 249 pounds. Surgery was Mar 30, 2015.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies . I called a different center of excellence this afternoon. The surgeon this morning was really discouraging. He told me my weight loss potential was only 100 lbs smh when I know 50-60% isn't 100lbs... Maybe he was thinking of the lap band .

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
