Hi all! So I was just approved for surgery 7/1/15 ! Couldn't be happier .. Just scared! Hear all sorts of horror stories. Such as a cath being used for surgery. Some reason that scares me more than anything! Any advice? I'm 27 and 253 pounds !

I was cath'd but they did it after I was out and it was gone when I woke up. I read all the stories also about gas pains, etc. I didn't have any of those things, no gas, no nausea! Don't worry they will take great care of you. Good luck!! Make sure to keep us posted on your progress!

I feel so dumb.... This whole time I have been calculating my BMI based on how tall I thought I was. I was worried how I would get surgery approved for my BMI of 39 bc I have no comorbidity.... Well I had someone measure me at the hospital I work at, I was calculating my height at 5'5, I'm actually 5'31/2 which puts my BMI at 40.9. That means I should automatically qualify for surgery. I have never been so happy to be wrong lol

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
