Mine only lasted a few days but I still have times (just over 2 months out) that I get nauseous. I keep the Zofran handy just in case. I am on a "regular" diet but it is really trial and error. Hoping that all goes well for you.

Mine lasted for about 9 days post-op. After that, things seemed to settle down. Although, Frankensleeve grumbled with every bite I ate, he stopped being nauseous  .

I battled nausea too, and while the Zofran helped, the thing that really worked for me was the SCOPOLAMINE transdermal patch.

I can't fully explain its effectiveness except to say: when I was wearing that patch behind my ear, I felt steady and had no worries that I would vomit!! It was incredible.

It's a motion sickness drug; each patch lasts 3 days. Here is some info: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682509.html

My surgeon said that it was only the second time he's prescribed scopolamine, and his other patient loved it too. He's going to start prescribing it regularly now.

Best wishes to you!!

My nausea only lasted a day or so. Are you taking an anti nausea medication? If it's bad to the point where you can't get fluids in, talk with your doctor. There are many different kinds. Hang in there it will get better.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
