Weight Training

Recommended Posts

I hit the gym 6 weeks after surgery. I am lifting about half of what I used to do pre-op and doing only 30 minutes. Yet by the end I feel a bit dizzy and weak. I can't drink much during weight training, feel full, though I can take more while walking.

Any suggestions sleevers.

Since you're not getting the same amount of fuel you were used to taking in pre-op, that could be the reason you're feeling dizzy...are you still trying to get in cardio to lose weight? If so, you need to find a happy medium and be sure to concentrate on getting in a very good amount of Proteins in. Since you need the liquids, your best bet would probably be some good Protein shakes.

Best of luck, my man!!

BTW...6 weeks post-op seems kind of early to be doing weights...did your surgeon OK this?

you likely lost a lot of muscle weight. it is unavoidable for the most part. keep it up at the gym. it will come back. you are still early out of surgery. things will start to come together soon. keep up the good work.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
