Maybe TMI but I did have bowel movements at 1 week granted they were liquid themselves. My surgeon is a fan of milk of mag if constipated so maybe check and see if that's ok for you

This thread will help. As for myself, I take stool softeners every day, even at nine months out. I will also use Miralax or Smooth Move Tea that I bought online. I get the chocolate tea bags and brew them in sugar free hot chocolate and add a dab of sugar-free whip cream. here is the thread:

I used miralax every morning in my flavored water. My post-op nurse told me this is the best bc your body does not become dependent on a stimulant to get you going. So, I do a dose every morning. Once you finally start going and it is soft then you can start to decrease the dose to every other or every third day. This has been great for me. I've always had sluggish bowels and this is helping. It is only Fiber so it doesn't do any harm. It took me a couple weeks to go on a more regular basis. Hope it helped. Blessings. Oh yeah, once your off pain meds (hydrocodone, etc) it will be easier bc those bind you up.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
