Help

So I'm having some issues using the bathroom I've only been out 1 week as of today if I'm only drinking water and protein will I still need to poop ? Sound funny but b4 I had surgery I pooped everyday now I feel backed up but I'm only on liquids ?

    Maybe TMI but I did have bowel movements at 1 week granted they were liquid themselves. My surgeon is a fan of milk of mag if constipated so maybe check and see if that's ok for you

This thread will help. As for myself, I take stool softeners every day, even at nine months out. I will also use Miralax or Smooth Move Tea that I bought online. I get the chocolate tea bags and brew them in sugar free hot chocolate and add a dab of sugar-free whip cream. here is the thread:

I used miralax every morning in my flavored water. My post-op nurse told me this is the best bc your body does not become dependent on a stimulant to get you going. So, I do a dose every morning. Once you finally start going and it is soft then you can start to decrease the dose to every other or every third day. This has been great for me. I've always had sluggish bowels and this is helping. It is only fiber so it doesn't do any harm. It took me a couple weeks to go on a more regular basis. Hope it helped. Blessings. Oh yeah, once your off pain meds (hydrocodone, etc) it will be easier bc those bind you up.
