What happened to a friend was just weird

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine was sleeved on Monday and she felt like her neck was swollen. She went to the ER, but not the hospital she had surgery, and the told her it was probably a gas bubble. I happened to be at the ER with my husband and I personally knew the nurse assigned to my husband and I told her I was going to be sleeved and should I just pass up this hospital and go where I have the surgery and she said yes, unless life threatening or I just need I.v. Fluids. I hope my friend is alright, but I haven't heard of swelling in the neck, have any of you?

Perhaps her throat is swollen from the breathing tube they put down for the op.

Every case is different. I was sleeved on Monday as well and I feel perfectly fine today. In fact I went to the barber since I looked like Chewbacca from Star Wars. This afternoon, I plan to even go to the gym just to walk keeping in mind to over do it. I have had my regrets like everyone else, however I am already beginning to see changes and feeling good about them.

I have heard of other people having chest pain because of the gas floating up to their chest after surgery. Haven't heard of a neck swelling, though. There are so many things that could cause it - the throat tube, the anesthesia, the gas, etc. She needs to go back to the hospital where she had the surgery and have them contact her surgeon for a consult.

She is going better, thank God, and believes it was gas

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
