Hi Bandista! Thank you! I'm home and resting now. I'm in some pain but I'm waiting for the pain meds to kick in. How long was it until the soreness and pain went away and you felt somewhat "normal?"

Welcome to the family! We are a great bunch of friends here. I'm glad you are home and resting. I think for me, I was off the pain meds by the fourth day. I was tired and not quite myself for about a week. Then I started feeling better. I drove by myself one week post op.

Get plenty of rest, drink your fluids, and take it easy!

Keep in touch....

I think it depends and its different for everyone. I experienced no pain. I didn't have to take anything for pain. Woke up feeling great. Had surgery on Monday, sleeping on my stomach again by Wednesday and went back to work on Thursday. Im pretty sure im the exception and just down right lucky. For now just rest and recover. In a few short weeks life will start getting back to normal, well a new normal I guess I should say :) good luck and hope you feel better soon.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences. I'm struggling with finding a comfortable position to sleep in--for now, I'm using a oversized couch pillow to prop myself up in bed to sleep upright. It's not unbearable, so I can deal.

I too feel lucky in that I do not have nausea or feelings of wanting to vomit. Just pain around 1 of the 5 incisions (the one highest on my chest.)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
