The scales out the window

Recommended Posts

I am one of those people that would jump on the scale every chance I got to see if I lost or gained weight, about 2-3 weeks I made a conscious decision to stop doing this, instead I've been more concerned with how I feel and how my clothes fit, and both had been great.

My goals for getting sleeved were to lose weight, get fitter and healthier.

The last time I weighed I was around 230, but I feel great, I hit the gym 3/4 times a week sometimes more, my blood pressure has been perfect, my clothes are falling off me and on the plus side my wife has not been able to keep her hands off of me.

I just don't want to be overly concerned about the numbers, I just want to live a healthier lifestyle.

Congrats on breaking the control the scale had on your brain. How you feel about yourself and how you feel about how you feel you look is much more important. The wife's hands on you is an added bonus!!

Amen. I have read so so so SO many posts on here of people totally freaking out over stalls. So. Many. Posts.

I don't own a scale. I don't care about the numbers. I want to fit in a size 8 jeans and look good. That is what my goal is. I know that with this surgery and proper eating habits I WILL fit into an 8. Will it be four months, six months, nine? Who knows. But it will happen. Rather than obsessing over the scale I am going to enjoy the journey to those size 8 jeans.

I'm with you....I have a size and how do I feel goal, not a number. I do weigh once/week at work so I have something to put on my ticker, though. I also have "interested parties" Asking me all the time how much weight have I lost. But I think everyone that whines about their stall needs to be "grounded" and have their scale removed for a month. Just like taking a video game away from a kid who's playing too much and not doing their homework. All that mental anguish caused by the numbers just doesn't seem worth it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
