I had never been put under for any type of surgery before my RNY. I just kept thinking that the results will be worth the risk (slight risk at that). I do regret my surgery, I regret that I didn't have it sooner. Also, I never told my parents I was having the surgery. I know how my parents are and it wasn't worth the hassle. So while I was recovering in the hospital my parents called my wife and she spilled the Beans. The first thing out of my dad's mouth when talked to him was, "I never realized you were that big." I wasn't that big. My BMI was only 35, but with the GERD, sleep Apnea, Hi BP, High Cholesterol and Diabetes I was more that qualified.
