My Nightly Glass Of Wine....(Not To Mention Snacking)

Recommended Posts

I've been tossing the same 2 lbs back and forth for 2 mths. About 20 lbs from goal of 130. Never before in my adult life have I weighed 150, let alone 130. So yeah me!

Problem: Nightime snacking and my nightly glass of sangria wine (sweet red, 90 calories). Occasionally it turns into 2 glasses of wine. Then I start nibbling on whatever I had for dinner. Hafta wait till hubby falls asleep cuz I don't want to hear about how I shouldn't be eating at night. I keep a box of Cinnamon Life Cereal next to my bed to munch on.

I don't eat nearly as much as I used to pre wls (banded for 3 1/2 yr before revision 4 mths ago). In fact, I eat very little. It's just the fact that I relate lying in bed watching tv with the need to eat.

What to do?

I have recently read the book, "The power of habit" and it was really insightful. So you do know you have to remove the cereal from the bedroom and stop watching TV in bed. I know that it is tough but once you decide what you want your new reward to be the habit you create to get it becomes easier and easier. You have done fantastic so far and I am sure you want the reward to be 130 pounds! Put on your big girl pants and make that commitment; You CAN do it!!

Girl,

rule number #1 do not eat in bed.

I've read the food philosophy thread and a couple of others that you have posted in the last couple of days (stalker? No there just isn't much going in here) and you seem at a crossroads...

Are you happy at your weight? You said that if you never lost another pound you would be pleased. You mentioned that you don't want to diet. But we do have to change our diet in order to lose this weight. It's not just about eating less it's about eating better.

Right now with the exception of eating in bed (not good anytime) you sound like you are eating to maintain.. Which isn't a bad thing if you are happy where you are at.. Well except you really should eat more Protein :) sorry your daily food intake was like a carbaholic party :P

I'm not beating up on you! I'm at a crossroads myself I have moments of thinking AND people telling me I'm at a good weight... I'm finding myself not losing anymore and it makes sense because I've been eating recently like someone who is in maintenance..

I AM at a crossroads. While I'm happy maintaining, I have this dream of weighing 130. My dr gave me 160 as my goal and I surpassed that. My original goal was 140. 2 yrs ago, I weighed 144 (my lowest weight before my band slipped and I gained 30 lbs) and at my wedding I had to wear a shawl with my sleeveless dress cuz of the backfat. Then I decided 4 lbs wouldn't have made much of a difference and I should lower my goal to 130.

130 sounds almost impossible. Seems like I'd be eating fish and broccoli for months. Thats just not me. My goal: To maintain until after the holidays and then Jan 2nd, I will get serious with my diet. My hubby gained 40 lbs this past year and does well with Atkins. I pr\omised him I'd lean MORE toward Atkins than I am now, but that I'd NEVER do Atkins inductions ever again (did it for 4 weeks last Feb. I'd have killed my mother for a cookie). I will watch my carbs more but not limit them like he does.

But thru the holidays, I'm a realist and I'm not gunna feel guilty for having a few bites of pumpkin pie (about all I can eat). Thanks for the encouragement. I follow ur posts also and am very impressed by ur progress. Congrats!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
