Every doctor is different. I was on clear liquids for one week and then moved onto mushies last week. I'm on this for another week or so. Then I will move onto regular food. The mushies you can eat just about anything as long as you puree it. I have been sticking to chicken and fish because they have the highest Protein.< /p>

On the day of my surgery, doc ordered Clear Liquids, but then he moved me on to full liquids a few hours later because I was able to tolerate the clear liquids fine. It was clear liquids for a week and then on to mushies for 2 weeks, followed by full food. My doc's progression seems to be much faster than what most other places recommend, but he's ranked as one of the top bariatric surgeons in the country - so I trust his recommendations.

While on full liquids, I mainly consumed Protein Shakes, Jello, and cream Soups.

On mushies, I'm eating all sorts of things - fish, cottage cheese, eggs, pureed cauliflower, applesauce, butternut squash Soup, sauteed mushrooms, babyfood (some of it is really good), etc.

I had my surgery 3 days ago and my doc put me on 2wks of liquid post-op, clear liquids a day before and after surgery, and now I will be on liquids for 1-2wks, then pureed for 1-2 wks, then soft for 1-2 wks. I'm so hoping to go to pureed after a week because I'm starving....I never feel satisfied and FULL of gas!

Good luck to you!

If you can't make it through the full liquid phase for the week. I cheated one day and had a small plain yogurt (NO FRUIT). It held me over. And I was fine. I'm on pureed now for a week and doing fine. I should be on soft food next week.

Mine was similar... clear liquids week 1 (I ate broth, drank G2 gatorade/crystal light, Water and consumed jello)

Week 2 was full liquids (which could include pudding and yogurt) I became a huge fan of mixing Protein Powder in with pudding.

Week 3 pureed... 4 mushies...

I'm pretty much eating anything I want right now. I have my first fill next week. I chew, chew, chew whatever I eat and I am not drinking when I eat. I fill up fairly fast on way less than I ever ate before. Sometimes I get hungry too soon, so I finish eating what I started at meal time.

Right now I am starving (it's lunch time) and I DO NOT want the chili I brought with me from home... grrrrrr

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
