Does anyone have any tips for post-op? I know I have been through it before but I feel like anything will help!

Hey guys Im new on here.. My names Hali im from tx. One of the nurses from the hospital that I go to suggested this site. I was banded in Dec of 07 and I have lost about 50 lbs. I have had a lot of problems with throwing up so the doc thought my band was too full and my stomach was probably swollen so he kept taking stuff out and putting it back in. I played that game for about a year until everything came out of my band. Now we have found out that my band has slipped probably from all of the throwing up. I have to have surgery again to either remove it or replace it. They said that this hardly ever happens.. only to about 1 out of 200 patients but I'm scared that it will happen again. They also told me that they have better bands now that they believe I will do better with. If I do not get another band then there is a big possibility that I will gain my weight back pretty fast.. What do you guys think? I'm not sure what to do..Either way I have to have surgery pretty soon

Hi. My band slipped and my doctor doesnt want to do a band replacement. He says gastric bypass is a better way to go. He said very often a band replacement will slip again. So I am waiting to hear whether the insurance will pay for gastric bypass but in the meantime I am scheduled to have the band removed. I am kindve bummed out by this cause I would rather have a band than go thru the bypass surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
