Scare that I will gain a lot of weight back :-(

Recommended Posts

I am leaving for Thailand in a few weeks and will be there for 5 weeks. I grew up there so I love all Thai food. Right now I have some restriction but I am not there yet so the lbs that I've lost is mainly will power.

I am scared that I will gain a lot of weight back from having not so much restriction. Well, like this past week, I have been dealing with H1N1 flu in my house. All of my kids got it, my almost 2 year old just got diagnosed yesterday. My mom and sisters (they watch them for me when I work) got it too and is still dealing with it. As for me, I am going to urgent care tonight and see what is going on with me (I am sick but no fever). I have already gained weight just by eating something that make me feel good and not counting calories and it has been only a week. I am going to Thailand for 5 weeks and probably won't be able to prepare my own meals. I am so paranoid over this

My doctor will not give me a fill since he said it would be hard for me to find a lap band doctor there in case I need an unfil or something.

I need some advice please.

Thank you so much,

My advice is this. If I were you, I would not worry too much about gaining weight. Going on the trip will be stressful, which will tighten your band. Also, don't pig out. Enjoy yourself, but in moderation. Have fun, and when you come back, diet like normal people do when they go on vaccation and eat too much. Don't be afraid to be normal. And another thing, all that spicy food might upset your band and give you more restriction too. Do NOT get a fill before you leave...your doc is right. Stop stressing and have fun. Keep busy and don't make the vaccation about food. I am excited for you- have a blast!

Thank you for calming me down. I am so excited to go since the last time I saw my family it was almost 6 years ago :-( I am going to try my best though and just have fun spending my time with my family and let my kids enjoy their vacation too

Thanks again.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
