Hi, Neener! I am a 31 year old mommy of 3 boys (twins who are almost 7 and a 15 month old) and I also have an incredibly wonderful hubby! I was banded Aug. 5th and have lost 35 lbs so far and have had 2 fills. I'm scheduled for a 3rd full this Thursday. I have had no complications! I love it so far and feel great! Good luck to you!

Hi Everyone!!

I was banded 7/6/09 and I have lost 40 pounds so far. My motivation for getting banded was my children. I have two sets of twin boys ages 7 and 4. I didn't want to be the mommy who sits on the side and doesn't play with them. I now have so much energy. I bought a bike and love taking them on bike rides!! The band is the best thing that I have ever done for myself.

Post op for me wasn't that bad. I was in the hospital only over night. I didn't need the prescription pain meds after the first day at home. I was so ready for mushy food by the second week because you can only eat so much Jello, yogurt and broth before you want to go crazy!!

Hey there- I was banded on 10/14/09. I have (or will be) on full liquid diet (post surgery) for two weeks. I get to start mushie foods on Wednesday the 28th and I cannot wait.......Let me back up a bit....I am 37-not married/no kids. My highest weight ever was 250, the day I went to the WLS seminar I was 242, surgery day was 220 and today am 211. The liquid stage is getting seriously BORING.......It's hard, but worth it. I think what makes it harder is that I have been off work this whole time (due to the physical demands of my job). This leaves too much time to think about being hungry- despite my best efforts to stay busy, walk, etc. However, when I go back to work I am hoping that it will get somewhat easier. I would love, love, love to stay in touch with you all and support one another through this. It is extrememly helpful!!!!! I wish all of you the best of luck. message me anytime....I will "friend" yall!!! Hope to hear from you soon.

Questions09...GREAT to "see" you!! You should be so proud of yourself!...I am truly terrified of the liquid phase!!..But am absolutely estatic to get started!...I am doing pre op right now....and so far so good!!....I am hoping to go back to work 1 week post op....I work as a surgical assistant so I will be on my feet all day!!!....I would also love to keep in touch!.....Lets all "band" together and support one another!!!!

Hi Everyone, The liquid phase is not that bad as long as you are getting the Protein in to keep full. I was lucky. I only had to be on liquids for 1 week, then mushies for 1 week and then full food. Now I am going for PS on Friday 11/06/09. I was banded on 3/27/09. I am now down 170lbs. I have never ever thought that I was going to be successful, but if I can do this than everyone can. My husband was banded on 6/12/09 and is now down 70lbs. So we keep each other motivated. Good luck to everyone!!!

If you would like to share how your first couple of weeks post op were that would be amazing!!!

About my first couple of weeks, I was dragging rear until about the night of day 7 and into day 8....that's when I notice feeling normal again. I had lost 13 lbs in 5 days and felt terrible! As far as the surgery itself....I was outpatient and was released around noon to go home. The pain medicine hyped me up, so I couldn't even sleep that day or night! No fun! Day 2 was definitely the worst for pain, but after that it really got better fast! I was only a little sore for a couple of days after that. The post-op diet was not hard for me to follow b/c I didn't want to mess anything up!!! I wasn't about to compromise my band for my own stupid food cravings! I teach and had to start inservice days after 10 days and back to school after 2.5 weeks and felt more than ready to get back to work. I felt fine! No one at work knows about my surgery, which has been interesting when they notice I'm not eating much. Oh well....keep 'em guessing!

Good luck to you! If you have anymore specific question, just ask!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
