  4. Hi Carrie!!!! Yea i haven't been on here in forever either!!! I'm doing good. Got my weight to under 200 lbs for the first time in my adult life. Just kind of been maintaining my weight lately. Work is going good. Home life is going good. Ditched my boyfriend. Been out on a couple dates since but haven't found anyone. Just weirdos! lol. Are you still in Illinois? Hows that going?

  5. Dr. G is the best! I absolutely love him. I am 5 months post op and I have lost 56 lbs total so far. Not to mention all the inches I've lost. I am so much happier a person and I am enjoying my life right now.

WAY off track and can't find my way back!!!

Start to get the food part under control (do what you need to do) whether it's get a fill or seek help for food addiction. Most importantly start working out again! Now that spring is here take those 4 babies out for a nice long walk or walk up to a park or something like that. Then once you get your "work out feet" moving again amp it up!!!! You can do it!! Take it 1 day at a time. I got off track on my work outs too for months and i'm finally back at it and I work out 3-4 days a week. I take a free step aerobics class that is being offered at the local community center and the other 2-3 days i'm on my own. It's not quite warm enough for me to take my dog out for walks yet (I live in Michigan) but I have different videos that I rotate. Good luck getting back to it, after all you didn't lose 80+ lbs for nothing!!

    Regrets

Hell to the NO! I do not have a single regret! I am over 2 years out and I feel great! I regularly exercise and I'm healthy. I am 50 lbs away from my goal weight and it's totally been worth it!!! I am a much happier person.
  10. Welcome to LBT and congrats on making the decision to change your life for the best!!!

    On my way!

Welcome to LBT congrats to you on your decision to lose weight!! The pureed stage was hard. I failed at this stage. I primarily ate "soft" foods. Like pudding, jello, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots (mashed) that kind of stuff oh and scrambled eggs. Good luck to you! Your next few weeks will be rough but it will be totally worth it!!! This is a life changing surgery (for the better of course) and you will be going through alot of changes in the next year as you begin your journey.
  12. Dang girl!!!! You look frickin' awesome!!! Congrats on the 150 lb + weight loss!!! You are truly an inspiration to those of us trying to get to our goals!!!!

    Tired of unwanted advice

I am definitely glad that everybody has been supportive of my decision. It would be tough about being surrounded by people who think they know better. Kudos to you for taking this step and getting the lapband to change your life. It has definitely changed mine!! I am 50 pounds away from my goal weight and cannot wait to get there! I am loving my life!

    Cold all the time

Thank god I am not the only one! I am constantly cold! I can work out and within 2 minutes of working out I am cold again.

    How has your BMI changed?

    I started out with a BMI of 56 and today I'm a 33.

Thank god for the lap band

Holy cow!!! You go!!! That is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Just remember the lap band is a tool to help you lose weight. It doesn't prevent you from shoving the wrong foods into your mouth. You have to control that part but it will do it's part for you! I was 315 lbs when I started out and today I'm 194 ish. I still have 50 lbs to go but I will get there and so will you! Good luck!

  18. Welcome to lbt! I know this seems like the hardest thing you will ever do in your life. You can get through the liquid diet. After a couple of days you are fine. The surgery itself wasn't that bad. I was in and out of the hospital in the same day. Recovery was sore. I could not get comfortable at all. It was uncomfortable to sit, laydown, etc. After a few days you heal and it gets better!

Turbo Fire or Slim In 6???

I want to start a new fitness program. Trying to decide between Turbo Fire or Slim in 6. Both are beachbody products. I have about 55 more lbs to lose. I also want something that will really tone up my thighs. Help!!!

    Where is your port??

Mine is above and slightly to the left of my belly button. When I stand up it feels like a tumor on my stomach.

Just when I thought this fat girl beat the lap-band...

Congrats Marisa! It takes courage to keep getting your fills and doing what you're supposed to do even with no results. I'm glad you are finally starting to get some awesome results!!! Congrats to you!!!! I'm fortunate that the band worked for me from the get go but it is a long, hard journey! I'm 2 years out and I still have 50 lbs to go!!! Having the lapband is definitely not an easy way out of loosing weight!!! It's just a tool and it's gotta work. If it doesn't work for you it is so easy to give up and congrats to you for not letting it get the best of you!

    31 single and banded

If it's a turn off then oh well the guy isn't worth your time! thats what I think! If you tell them that you have the band they should be supportive and respect what you've gone through and are currently going through. I've recently found myself on the dating scene after breaking up with my boyfriend of more than a year and i've been very up front about having the lapband and so far they've respected my decision and have even given me kudos for taking charge of my life.

Turbo Fire or Slim In 6???

Thanks for the advice! I have a lot of toning to do on my legs. I don't really do weights unless it's a part of the exercise video I happen to be doing then I usually do 3 lb weights. I used to be much better at working out but then kind of got out of it over the summer and now I want to get back into the groove!!!
