Sore after getting stuck? Normal?

Recommended Posts

I had my first "stuck" experience last night. Have 5 cc's in a 10 cc band. Was eating some baked fish....took too big of a bite too fast and didn't chew. Stupid. It can back up after 2-3 minutes.

Then, woke up at 2am unable to go back to sleep because of how sore my whole stomach area felt sore, and don't know what is going on. I feel so sore that I am scared...I took some Tylenol, but that didn't seem to help much. It feels similar to what it used to feel like after the flu and vommiting a lot.

Is feeling sore after getting stuck normal? Help! I'm feeling kinda scared!

I also feel very sore after stuck experiences. I would eat light today and if it continues call your surgeon.

A day of liquids would probably be even better.

Yeah, I'm always sore after a stuck.

I am always a little sore after a stuck episode too.

I actually posted a very similar question after my first stuck episode. I think the first few months as new bandsters we tend to worry about every little ache and pain. I have learned to relax some now.

I look at it this way.....If something happens, a flipped port, slipped band, etc. Its gonna happen whether I worry about it or not. So relax! Everything will be fine.

After getting stuck, I always assume there must be some swelling...and that means a day of liquids, a day of soft foods, and then back to regular diet.

It seems logical that once you're stuck once, you're vulnerable for another episode if there's swelling.

That's me, anyway.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
