Hi All! I've been consumed with reading LBT the past few days..

For me - tomorrow morning at 6:30 A.M.

I was wondering what you wore the day of surgery? The pre-op nurse said it had to be verrry loose.. maybe pajama bottoms and a button front shirt? For the ladies, did most of you wear your bra? there but not home I'm guessing?

I have serveral things on my list to do today ..

1) Laundry (multitasking as we speak)

2) Shave hairy legs!

3) wash dishes

etc... any other household chores you guys can think of? that you wish you completed prior to surgery?

The day of surgery I wore the hospital gown with nothing on under it. I took a night gown and robe but never used either one. (I stayed overnight) for the trip home I wore baggy sweats with again nothing on under it. no bra and no panties. I had a LONG drive home and wanted to be as comfy as I could.

Just pack light. I packed so much and didn't even use anything but the sweats. They supplied me with soap, shampoo, comb, toothpaste and toothbrush, and lotion. They even supplied me with socks with rubber thingies on the bottom so I wouldn't slip. Like I said pack light.

DO TAKE CHAPSTICK!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is what I used most!! After surgery your are so dry and thrusty. can't drink much but sure used up my chapstick!!

Oh yea, about the housework!! Don't worry about it!! Just make sure you have your shopping for your liquids done. You wont want to go out after surgery. At least for a little while.

I wore a big long loose gauze dress with a tank top (a bra, panties, and a pant style big slip) -coming home I just wore the dress tank and slip (rolled down).

I have a bunch of stretchy camisoles with the shelf bra in them from when I was pregnant. I wore one of those with baggy sweats and a hooded zip-up sweatshirt. I was out of the hospital same day and had a 1 1/2 hour ride home. I was perfectly comfortable.

As for pre-op chores, I made sure my family had plenty of easy to cook food, and I had my housecleaner do an extra clean the day before (I have housecleaners come once every other week normally). If there is one thing I could strongly recommend, it's that you hire someone to clean your house, even if it's just a one time thing. Your family should be taking care of you!

I wore jogging pants and sweat shirt, had to be at hospital at 5:30am, wore my gown and robe home the following day. No bra for me either.

I wore elastic waist shorts (no button, no zipper), a loose t-shirt, bra and panties to and from the surgical center. I had surgery at 8am and walked out at 10:30am - same day.

I wore stretch pants and baggie tshirt. I got there at 5:30 am and was home by noon. I didn't wear my panties or bra going home.....

I wore loose pajama bottoms, matching cotton shirt, and Pink SPARKLY house shoes! I was comfy

I wore a tank top, underwear, and loose jogging suit thingee. I had to get nekkid except for the robe for surgery and then I finally got dressed before I went home. I got there at 7 am, had surgery at 8:30 and was leaving around 2.

The only thing I can think of to do before today is make sure you go grocery shopping and get all the liquids you want!

Heather, I'm divorced with an special needs 8 yr old... unfortunately, all of the house work is mine. I have been thinking about hiring a housekeeping service for quite a while now -- even if it's just once a month. I'm seriously considering it, but I'm a cheapskate at heart!

loose pajama bottoms and an under shirt of my husbands a large t shirt over it. No bra comfy shoes.

No experience with the lap band, but after my c-section I wore a mumu or what some call a house dress. It was large enough not to touch anything, and still looked ok. Good luck!

loose loose and even looser pj. Make sure you have your liquids read.

I wore sweats and a tee shirt, its no real biggy. my surgeon bandaged my site very well . Please make sure you take your liquids as per your doctors orders. Take care.

oversized jeans that were too big to start with and a big tshirt. Came home in the tshirt and jeans without the bra and panties. Luckily, I had some bras that were too big as well and wore those starting the next day.
