Congratulations not too much longer now Does your dr. know of the cough? They might be able to give you something to assure you are well enough for surgery. Let me know how you are doing God bless!

I am going to be banded October 27

I got my surgery date of October 29th! Halloween is my favorite time of year so I find it suiting. I have lost 15lbs on a pre-op diet and I still have 12 days on a liquid diet. I wish everyone the best of luck and I hope to figure out how to navigate this website to get and give support!

It took me a while to figure it out too..

I am 6 days past surgery and still having "gas" issues' If i was a gas powerd ship, I could sail around the world..

Just play with the website-- soooooo much info from other bandsters...

Keep us posted.

I was banded yesterday, 10/12/09. Surgery went smoothly. They also fixed a hernia, that I didn't even know I had, around my esophagus and stomach. I am a little sore, especially around my shoulders from the gas, but no pain thanks to the disgusting liquid pain meds.

Good luck to the rest of the Oct. bansters getting ready!

I am with you on the disgusting liquid pain meds !! Y U K !!!!

As thirsty as I am , that is the LAST thing I want to drink!!

Hey guys - my surgery went well. My dr did have to repair a severe hiatal hernia before the lb procedure and he did take a liver biopsy. My surgery was at 0830 and they let me stay the night and I didnt leave the hospital till afternoon on Friday. I am doing pretty good. Stopped taking the pain meds on saturday. I am going to try to go back to work for a half day tomorrow. Today is the first day I feel pretty good. I am losing over 2 lbs a day so thats cool. I am sure that will taper off. I actually am feeling restriction like when i eat 3 oz of yogurt or sf jello. I got the smaller lapband so I am sure I wasnt supposed to feel restriction yet but I am. Yea... How are you guys doing after your surgery???

yay tori09...im much better so my surgery will go on as planned this wednesday!!!sooo liver biopsy hmmmm????? why?????? also what do u mean u got the smaller band???? i had no clue there were different sizes????? hope ur feeling well...good luck with ur new beginning!!:wink2:

Go Tory I felt restriction too and couldn't figure it out. But surgeon told me that it was swelling from surgery. I was never hungry until week 3 and decided to stay on full liquids b/c felt good there. Oh I had tried a boiled egg and it didnt feel like it went down right. So:thumbup: I decided for me best to not have fill and am waiting 2 more weeks to adjust. I felt I needed the strength before moving on. I had surgery on 9/23 and down 29 lbs. Best to you and keep me posted.

Jordangirl - I got the AP Lapband and received the smaller band. They have 2 sizes. The reason I chose the AP lapband was that I knew it would have a bit more restriction to start off with than the realize, since the realize was more pliable and lose compared to the ap lapband. The dr said my liver maybe a little fatty but we will see the results soon and not to worry because the liver can heal itself. With weightloss it will become nonfatty. I had my gallbladder out 7 yrs ago and they did a biopsy then too and it was fine.

Good luck to you all!

I was banded oct.6th, had my post op apointment today

10-26 have lost 18lbs post op. dont worry all its not that bad!:wink2:

Oct 28th, here Just one more day !!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I was banded Oct 7 in Dallas. Everything is going great! I had my first fill on 11/4.

Hellow fellow October Bansters! I was Banded 10-07-2009, and had my first fill 11-9-2009. I have the Realize band now with 4.6cc in it. I'm on Liquids for the next 2 days, mushies, than regular food, so far I don't feel any restriction. But im only on liquids. 16 pounds lost!!

Good Morning to all, I was banded on 10/15/09.So far my restriction is still pretty tight. I ve lost 31 lbs so far. I have visited my Doc once with of course many complaints...I just get weak feeling, flutters in my chest. He sent me to the hospital just for a quick ck in emergency room. My body is just a big protestor of the starvation mode haha ! My biggest surprize in the ER was the doc said he wanted to show me something..he liffted up his scrub shrit to notice the marks of a banded person. He was 6 months out 50 lbs liter and feeling great. What a comforting site:lol:
