how many cc's on first fill

Recommended Posts

My surgery was on June 25th 2009, I had my first fill on August 2nd and they put 3 cc in my 10cc band. 2nd fill was on sept 5th, 2 more cc's so 5 cc's total. Some difference on how much I eat. Going for another fill on Oct 14th. Hopefully all will continue to go well.

I had my first fill today (10-07-09) - 6 weeks from my surgery date. The MD had mentioned previously at my 2 week post-op appt that he starts with 2 cc's for fills. So at today's first fill appt, I told him to "GO AGGRESSIVE". He kinda laughed & said "Aggressive, huh?"... so he loaded the needle up and started at 5 cc's & backed it down to 4.5 cc's... able to prove to him that I had no problem drinking from a bottle while he was filling up the band.....

I had my first fill a couple of weeks ago. Is there an awkward stage between food either going straight through or getting stuck? If I am in a hurry, or eat something dry, it gets stuck going down, but it seems nothing stays in the pouch. Will more fills help me get past this stage? It seems like the stoma is just big enough to cause grief or do nothing. Thoughts/knowledge?

Hello all,

I am six weeks post-op. Lost weight first 4 weeks. Even though my calories in/calories out says I should be losing 2-3 # per week, I have gained the last two weeks 5 pounds, Ugh.

Then I went 2 hour drive to my post care doctor yesterday and I couldn't get a fill. He said I am a slow healer and my incisons weren't healed enough for a fill. He put me on oral antibiotics for 2 weeks.

Has this happened to anyone else???? Help !! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
