OK ladies, please Help w/this one: I am 44 and had not had a period in 2, almost 3 years-I had blood test done(fairly extensive) over the years -the results didn't show I was perimenopausal, anyway--I started my period 5 days after surgery! What the heck-I thought I was done with all this. I would appreciate any thoughts on this. Is something wrong? I see my surgeon tomorrow and will ask her, I just thought I'd throw this out. Thanks

i started my period the day before surgery. i wore a tampon to the surgery center the day of surgery and told the nurse that was getting me ready for surgery about it. i was not on lovenox prior to surgery, but did get a shot of heparin before going to the OR. The nurse didn't say anything about removing the tampon and wearing a pad, but when I got up to use the restroom after surgery, to my surprise, i had no tampon and a pad between my legs!! talk about being embarassed! i felt violated! that all took place while i was under anesthesia. and no one ever said a word about it!!! so I would wear a pad, and take a tampon for after.

Anyone had surgery during TOM. Wouldn't you know it, my surgery date falls smack dab in the middle of my period. Hopefully, it will not be too heavy at the time. Geeze! What did you wear? Were you able to keep a tampon in ? Or a pad on?

As if I wasn't freaked out by the idea of going under enough, now this!

Have a good day all, got to get ready for work now!

Jodi:blush:

I was on my period at surgery. I had a tampon in, but they told me I had to remove it and gave me a pad that was the size of a diaper, and these weird underwear. No big deal though. I was nervous about it, but once I got there I was fine!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
