October 2009 Surgery Date?

Recommended Posts

Hey Munkee'sMommy! Congrats! We share the same surgery date. Two weeks from today! I just started the pre-op diet today....so far so good, but I'm not loving the Protein Drink (too sweet) but it'll do!

Keep in touch and congrats on the great news!

Best,

Nooshie:thumbup:

YAY FOR US!!!!! I have had a pre-op diet for the past 3 months. They make us slowly low carb to 15 carbs per meal, then liquids for 2 days. I am so SICK of this diet!!! Can't wait to get my band, but you know, I am getting nervous now. I'm shocked at that. Getting nervous. Protein drink too sweet? I don't think my tounge recognizes that term LOL!! Sorry, my computer has been crazy, we need to be band buddies and stick togeter! Good luck Noosh, let me know how you are doing so far. :)

I finally got it.....I'm APPROVED! My insurance will cover 100% of it too. BCBS of AL is great!

I have my surgery in 2 days and am so happy.

I have BCBS of AL and they are telling me I have to pay 50%. So far, the hospital says only the co pay. I'm going with the hospital until further notice. I don't know anyone that had to pay out like 10 grand, so I doubt I will. And if I do, I'll just send what i can, when I can because in the end it will so be worth it.:) Congrats.

It's been a week of appointments for me. Monday met with the surgeon (took my husband) and ran into an acquaintance from one of our support group meetings. Hadn't seen her since she was banded in July and she looked amazing! Having her there to ask questions, with my husband listening, was great and gave him a lot of reassurance that it was going to be okay!

Yesterday was the 3 hour nutrition class. We went over Protein and Calcium requirements, she gave good sources for mail-order places that have chewable Vitamins, gave out prescriptions for our pain meds for surgery/after, and a little card that the doctor prepared for us when we go out to eat that says we should be able to order off the senior or child's menu or order at a reduced price since our stomach's will only hold 2 oz.

Tomorrow is my pre-op physical and nurses assessment.

So far so good. Day 7 of the liquid diet. Doing okay. it's not terrible....the weight is not coming off me like I thought it would though. Have lost 4 pounds. I'm so excited. it's just a week and a day away.

Monkee's Mommy...keep in touch and let me know how you're doing. We can be buddies.

Gina, so great to meet you at class face to face rather than reading your post. Good luck to you!

Well I got sick. Stupid sinus infection. Surgery date is postponed. October 28. Oh well, Murphy's law I suppose. I will get there, and hey a few day's to eat solid food before the liquid diet again for 2 weeks. But, I can't take any chances too risky to be sick and go into surgery. Gotta be 100%

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
