How long does procedure take?

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to see how long it took your doctor to do the lap band procedure...?

Thanks all!

My procedure took about 45 minutes once it was underway.

I was operated on at 10:30am and I was home by 3:30 pm.

:wink2:

Mine was also under an hour. Unlike the previous two lucky ladies, I was in the hospital overnight, even though my surgery was at 8:15 a.m. No complications or medical issues. I guess that's just the way my doc does it.

Mine took about an hour, I had the single incision and I guess it takes a little longer. My surgery started at 11am, out by noon, released to go home at 12:30p and home by about 12:45p.

My surgery took about an hour. I stayed in the hospital overnight and I am telling you, was the BEST thing I could have done. The IV meds, nursing staff and hospital bed was what i needed!!!

Mine was an hour and half due to a hiatal hernia repair and removal of adhesions from a previous belly hernia repair.

Mine took around 2 hours this included a hiatal hernia repair, and I must say my doc did a fantastic job my incisions look marvelous!!! I also stayed in overnight, he told my husband I could go home in the afternoon, if I wanted but I decided to stay for one night, best idea, IV toradol, warm blankets, and 24 hours care. My husband was right by my side the whole time and he took excellent care of me also, but so did the docs and nurses.

My surgery took 1/2 hr and I had to stay in hospital overnight. Not because I had any problems just cuz that is my Dr's Requirement. I was up and moving around the day of surgery though.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
